Wouldn't it make more sense to build React Native on top of already cross platform frameworks such as wxWidgets/Qt? So it's cross-platform right off the bat.

Wouldn't it make more sense to build React Native on top of already cross platform frameworks such as wxWidgets/Qt? So it's cross-platform right off the bat.
- chrisrhoden 10y agoThe point is to use UI components that are native to the platform. There are lots of existing cross-platform technologies you can use if you don't care about the UI looking "native". React Native is specifically set up so that everything but the widgets are cross platform.
