Just like Skinner's superstitious pigeons, if you ever caught a pokemon and happened to be holding B+down at the time, there was a small part of your brain that wanted to believe that helped some how. So you do it every time in hopes o

I slack off way more when I am in the office because I view it as killing time till I leave. I browse reddit, hacker news, techmeme, sometimes I even just pull up an eBook and read. When I'm at home I will sit in front of my computer f

I disagree. We pay with our eyes, time and willingness to put up with bullshit. All of which are valuable to businesses. A lot of companies/websites have decided to lower the cost of that 3rd category (less ads, better UI) in hopes the

FYI: Hitting the "print" button (the one built into the page, not the browser's print button) on almost all news sites gives you a single page, and a (usually) ad free article.

I wonder if there is a market for a solid text editor written in Java (so that it can run on all platforms out of the box). I hate that I use different text editors for different platforms right now (Notepad++ for windows, sublime for linux

One of my favorite quotes goes like this: Lies propagate, that's what I'm saying. You've got to tell more lies to cover them up, lie about every fact that's connected to the first lie. And if you kept on lying, and you k

No one invests in a non-profit. Investors want ROI and going to mars is pretty capital intensive. EDIT: correct me if I am wrong, but YC doesn't expect to make a RIO with Watsi. They just want to make the world a better place. It is a
