It's ridiculously tempting to try and use SQLite for everything. It's so ridiculously useful and capable.

I like the concept a lot. But what about those of us who are already near completion/launch? Is it still worth it to open up at that stage?

Just anecdotally, only one of my chat groups on WA have moved over to Signal an that's because it's a group of four of us (we are long time friends who use the group to talk about our favorite sports team) With my other far larger

This really got me thinking. Does anyone know of any great sci-fi stories centered around the lengths the universe goes to to prevent a curious time traveler from testing the grandfather paradox.

I thought this would be a post referencing a recently infamous twitter thread on how Bitcoin is effectively a ponzi scheme https://twitter.com/smdiehl/status/1349307219318345728 Though I wish he hadn't disabl

Heh, as late as a decade ago in South Africa the national broadcaster used to air scary ads implying these vans roamed the neighborhood and would catch you out. Nobody bought it and they went back to politely pleading with people to pay the

What's curious for me is that I've visited these illusions before in the past and over time I've noticed that I've gradually stopped experiencing a growing number of them.

It's always, always, always foolish to bet against Apple nowadays. But for the life of me I can't see this car being anything other than mildly interesting unless it can fly.

As a complete outsider to US politics I'm still struggling to understand why so many people are upset at "Big Tech" about this. I think what all the de-platforming efforts show very clearly is that people inside these compani

It's highly likely that a majority of the PC's and smartphones used by employees at Facebook HQ are made by Apple. Delicious.

I think there is a very obvious opportunity here that people seem to be missing. The first "high end ghost kicthen" to stick a camera in their kitchen and stream their food prep will probably make a killing. You can probably build

Heh, I really, really liked that sound as well. But I can't explain why really. Could be the sci-fi nerd in me similar to the way we tend to like the feel of mechanical toggle switches.

I did this a lot as a child. Find some random insect (beetle, spider, earthworm), pop it into an ant colony and spend hours watching the ensuing battle. Never thought of it as cruel, which is unsettling when I imagine what an alien species

I'd bet a pretty significant number of current mobile apps would do just fine as PWAs, rendering this whole kerfuffle moot. More developers should be pushing for improvements in web tech rather than just accepting whatever Apple decree

Because Chrome is just as aggressive with it's nag prompts, it would be a bit weird for Microsoft to just lay down and take it in this case though. I think for the average user Chrome/Edge are pretty much interchangeable now. For
