Well for my family member who was/is a heroin addict, 6 months in jail meant 6 months of not stealing from her family. 6 months of not neglecting her kid. 6 months of sobriety to reflect on where her life was going. She did not stay

Very few of my undergrad CS classes used a computer. Most tests were on paper, even when we had to write a working program. It was not unusual to have coding projects that accounted for maybe 10% of the grade, but it was rarely the focus.
