> I don't understand how AA is the one getting sued here The article indicates that AA inexplicably identified the victim alone as the perpetrator, rather than sharing the passenger list with police. One imagines they'll be fa

I turned off all these alerts, finding the shock of the "flash flood warning" klaxon much more hazardous to my wellbeing than the chance of being swept away by the raging floodwaters of Philadelphia.

This is always my reply to crypto-heads: if btc/eth/etc. become too inconvenient for the U.S. government, or interfere in some material way with currency policy, the government will simply declare crypto illegal or regulate it to

Yes, anything that uses NIO / Netty / epoll / io_uring / etc. under the covers will do. There are several options--IIRC at least five choices are available, but these are the ones that come to mind: https://o

Okio is very nice, and Okhttp is quite ergonoic, but I can't recommend Okhttp if true async is on the table (it's just blocking and threadpools under the covers).

Kitty is awesome! The ligatures, layouts and tabs, shell integration, buffer search--and ctl+shift+e and ctl+shift+u are super handy. Probably just scratching the surface here.

GH Actions felt so fundamentally janky and under-documented when I last looked at it (October?) that this doesn't come as a surprise. I really can't foresee using it with requirements any stricter than "nice when it works.&q

Yes, my theory was also some DNS variance in the AZ, but AWS stolidly refused to supply any information to that effect. Adding 'dig +trace' to the equation only deepened the mystery.

Matt Levine noted a few months ago that the US dollar is already a digital currency (you don't pay the rent with a sack of coins), it just isn't a cryptocurrency.

Yep. I had an (immutable) JVM ECS service that worked fine for a year, then started failing DNS in just one of several AWS AZs and for just one of various host names--one with something like 24 A records, a few but not an outrageous number

Rectangle is nice, but it is at best a window-sizing-and-positioning helper, and is nothing like i3/sway.

AFAIK only in California are toll-free, multi-lane highways called "freeways," so there may be no end to the definition-jockeying. If maximum speed is a necessary factor then CA may have no freeways at all remaining.

Ditto, moving from Scala to Python and Go for a stint shocked me with the craptacular state of search results for "easy/popular" languages. Next stop was an extension for blocking particular sites in search.
