I use and like Grooveshark but it's radio recommendations are pretty bad and people who have used both say Spotify's is better. I would take these scores with a grain of salt. As much as I like Grooveshark I wouldn't give it a 9 overall.

There are 100 other comments about all the things you mentioned. DanielBMarkham's comment is great, can't we just leave it at that or add to it constructively?

Honestly, I would have liked to know at the beginning that he wasn't just selling MP3 players but blatant copies of the iPod shuffle. I was wondering who would pay $50 for some crappy Chinese MP3 player. Obviously kids will if it looks like

He must have meant revenue of $40 per unit, not profit. They were selling for $55 and affiliates got $15.

We've got Grooveshark and Slacker, and Grooveshark doesn't make you hear any ads even if you don't pay them. The other side of that is you can only use Grooveshark on your phone if you are a paying customer. Apparently Pandora has good re

Here's the key to git: embrace the fact that you're going to learn a new tool. Learn how to use it and play around with it. Once you're comfortable doing the basic things you would do day to day like create a repo, commit, push, pull, branc

I use zerply. The name is terrible but I like their service and don't see myself updating my "traditional" cv in the near future. That could change but I'll resist it. Might be a nice recruiter filter too. If you tell them you don't have a

Your book stinks. Standing by while people are taken advantage of and robbed should not be praiseworthy in anyone's book. > Essentially on discovering I had the power to stop this illegal act without causing any harm, I felt morally obl

In the case of the iPhone developers either followed the customers, hence money, or they developed things because they loved their iPhone and/or Cocoa. So maybe in order to bootstrap a platform you need to attract a bunch of customers incl

Yeah, I love Grooveshark but their recommendations are bad. I'd love to try Pandora. Not having much choice I'm happy with iTunes on desktop, Double Twist and Grooveshark for mobile. I've dipped my toe in Google and Amazon music but I had t

Great point, thanks. I have a hosting account there because I don't want to manage a VPS for my (static) blog and the other low traffic site I host. I didn't even realize you can't only use them for domains, that's a huge gotcha.

Don't know if I agree with this conclusion that people will pay more for apps now. What if iPad apps are raising the average? iPhone and iPod touch owners may not have paid a cent more than they did the year before for any given app.

Cheap until you get roped into an auto-renewing thing with 3x the price you first paid. Why support a company like that? It's so slimy. Your cheap domains are effectively subsidized by GoDaddy preying on others.

GoDaddy's UI is terrible. I use Dreamhost for all my domain registrations and most DNS. Great admin interface compared to the competition, still very cheap, domain transfer codes plainly visible, no unlocking or calling or any of that. You

Understandable. I don't have anything nice to say about software patents either.

Start to wonder about what? Please finish that thought. Unlike with patents if you don't defend a trademark you will lose it. Trademarks and patents are different and I'm curious as to why you're relating them here.

Do you think this is largely a North American phenomenon where .com is king of everything, commercial or not? In most other countries people are not only familiar with but embrace their own country's TLD.

Good point. I like to think I adapt well enough, I quickly learn to use most new things simply by prodding at them and observing the results. However as I get older I get slower and less patient with that sort of thing, and I'm only 28. Hop

People generally say "time cures these problems" but I'm starting to wonder. Things change so rapidly, someone who is 60 now and is learning to use a mouse and keyboard might be utterly lost in 20-30 years with whatever advances have been m

I use SSH keys to log into Linux and OS X boxes all the time, servers and otherwise. And boy have I wished there was an easy SSH server to run on Windows. You have to log into remote boxes these days and SSH keys are the best way to do that
