I'd imagine the incentive is more points for the speech recognition model. The race is for who can handle completely unstructured speech best, and the field is vast at this stage.

That would make tokens valid across different applications that share a session. A compromise of one application would then jeopardize all your applications. Just reduces the risk surface a bit.
