I used Webflow extensively for a startup a few years ago where I did front-end development and a few non-technical people were trying to write out content pages (e.g. FAQ, features, etc.). Honestly the whole experience was very underwhelmi

I think there's an economic principle here (and I don't know the sign), but this is all assuming a frictionless vacuum - in practice, Apple cannot sell 25% more M1 Macs if they lower their price to $800, or whatever, since their m

I actually find it kind of helpful to not try to finish at the end of the day. When you're sort of in "implementation" mode, it's easy to get back to where you were. After an hour of cleaning up loose ends, it can be n

While Pyright the project is still under development, when Pylance was released, it was mentioned that the Pyright VSCode extension wouldn't be developed any more. I'm surprised it still works, but I guess that's more of a co

This is a late comment, but this helped me out a lot. Thank you for the detailed explanation and code example, I appreciate it.

This comment really resonated with a feeling I’ve had over the past few years. When I was younger, especially at the beginning of college, I loved to build things by programming. I learned new languages, new patterns, wrote an OS, a website

Maybe you could use your experience to propose a system (whether funding vehicle restrictions or proper incentives) for that not to happen in this case? I think we’d all be excited by that. How can we avoid spending money on lobbyists? Mayb

In my opinion (having read both books and TA’d courses using both), Murphy is a significantly better book than Bishops’s Machine Learning. I’m very excited about a sequel!

How do you set the concurrency limit? I'm down to use your framework (thanks!), just curious how you implement it. I couldn't get Stream::buffered to work correctly.

Emulators are very impressive! The biggest innovation here is running the emulator in browser (presumably a WASM cross-compilation of an existing desktop emulator?). Dolphin has had a similar (non-browser) feature called Netplay for many ye

I tried to build a scraper in Rust just a few days ago and got stuck trying to concurrency limit my calls (the website I was scraping appropriately had a rate limit). I couldn’t figure out how to get tokio::stream/tokio_stream to work.

I am not a tax attorney obviously, but the information I've been given (by many sources) is that this year I'll pay taxes for the state in which my employer resides, not where I've been living. I think the decider is "st

I think the comments about how this is yet another google wave/orkut/+, etc., are kind of missing what this is (probably because of bad branding overlap with Snapchat/Instagram stories). I think this is a content marketing an

It's funny how we've taken it for granted that the service of maps and routing (one I consider a technological marvel) is free just when Google starts to put ads in Maps. I guess it must have been hard to convince venture capital

I think Microsoft bundling IE is a very valid comparison. I guess it's hard to see what's a transparent attempt to crush Slack and what's just the regular enhancement of business. After all, you can hardly buy Word alone and

I guess I implied that I think they're a monopoly in the area of productivity software, which isn't entirely fair since Google Suite exists. But in my shallow opinion Google Sheets is not really a competitor to Excel.

The more I consider it, the more I think that bundling is anticompetitive. I guess there are some synergies to having Teams and Word integrated, but they don't seem very large. It seems if you want to do chat, you must also do all pr

Not to endorse a particular point of view, but I believe land value taxes are based on assessed land value. If you're saying that your hypothetical land shouldn't pay the tax the neighboring 10 homes are paying, I think the econom

I hear a lot of "all PC laptops are now comparatively a bad deal", which is a real bummer since it's always good for Apple to have competition. If Apple is reserving all of TSMC's 5nm (and probably 3nm) node output, is S
