I don't think you understand Dart's type system. It has “dynamic”, which is equivalent to “any”! Dart's type system is worse because you can pass in null for any type at any time. This circumvents any sense of type safety you

How can you recommend Dart when it has globally nullable types?

Aside from type annotations, TS only has one superset feature (decorators). It's already behind a flag.

I'm not comparing Dart to an SML. If you want something to compare to, TypeScript is the pragmatic package you're looking for. It makes major steps in the right direction.

That all makes sense, but it's disappointing to see that Dart is no better than Java in type safety. Every type is nullable (the billion dollar mistake), and the type system is too weak to support mildly advanced data modeling without

That's just spoken language. There are many words that are "literary", which means they are used primarily in writing and not spoken language. Without hanzi it would be very difficult to understand what is written.

I think you need to stop making personal jabs. I never said the past was perfect – that's a strawman. But it's self-evident that companies on average used to think contrary to what Freidman was proposing. That's why he wa

This is called the Freidman Doctrine [1], and didn't exist until 1970. Before this stupid idea got popular, companies were actually concerned with how their actions impacted society. They weren't the souless profit-seeking machi

Express and Hapi seem simpler than the Serverless framework you're replacing it with. You have to specify that one more thing [0] anyway, don't you? I honestly don't see how this is simpler. [0] https://github.com

A deterministic Python dialect is indeed very cool. I've dabbled in writing a deterministic language myself. Syntax highlighting and formatting is nice, but I think error reporting is more important for the end user. Zaml auto-validate
