Very nice so far. I noticed a small problem in the tutorial. On step 3 or 4, when the suggested code is if (s1.energy == s1.energy_capacity){ memory[s1.id] = "charging"; } else if (s1.energy == 0){ memory[s1.id] = "harvesting

Evaluating whether something is likely to be true is not the same thing as evaluating whether something is true. If I'm in a windowless room and don't know whether it's raining outside, I might assume based on the season that

If you are referring to a pro-choice stance, I don't think that's really comparable to a situation where your choice can severely affect not only yourself but all people around you.

I feel like iMUSE [0] by the fantastic Michael Land needs to be mentioned here. Here it is in action: [1] [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMUSE [1] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7N41TEcjcvM

I have a vastly different experience regarding quality in comparison to e.g. TeamSpeak. Maybe it's because I mostly use free Discord servers, but the sound quality is much worse and, more crucially, Discord is apparently completely una

45k eur? Senior software engineers in Germany make about twice that. It's still a big difference to US salaries but let's not get carried away here with lowballing the EU salaries.

If I understand correctly, I think the problem with your second example is that you should avoid checking for `True` with something like `if isFile` but instead `if isFile is True`. That would solve this specific problem (and is also slight

That's a huge difference for sure, but wouldn't we need the volumes of the contracts for a fair comparison?

In fact, at least Firefox already has support for displaying JSON files. I assume this does not happen here because eventually, there actually is an <html> tag.

We have roughly the same regulations in Germany, in my personal experience people do not take advantage by prentending to be sick in any meaningful quantity. I mean there surely are people out there pushing it to the limit but it's not

I don't think Beyond Meat is lab-grown meat, as far as I'm aware it is not made from actual animal cells but just a mix of plant-based ingredients like the ones listed.

In the article, it says > The tax would be paid for by employers and the income generated would be paid to people who can't do their jobs from home. But somehow nobody in this thread seems to have read that sentence.

Can I? That would be great. I thought InfluxDB did not support that but I might be wrong, I'm not really an expert.

Interesting idea. How would you model the forecast time in this case? I'm not an expert but to my knowledge, you can only have one time index in InfluxDB, right?

Do you have any plans for supporting versioned time series? As in "show me the time series as it was on 2020-11-11-08T:00:00:00Z"? Most of our time series are forecasts that change over time and that would be super helpful. Anyway

I think GP is measuring the difference in the total margin while you are measuring the difference in each candidates percentage. I.e. in Wisconsin, the forecasted margin was 8.3 points and looks to be closer to 0.7 points which is a differe

With regard to Game of Thrones, I don't think the article argues that it necessarily got better in quality season by season but that it took a couple of seasons to find a massive viewership and become a cultural phenomenon. That said,

I'm not 100% sure where I stand on the issue but that analogy falls a little flat - the potential reach of a couple of posters on a couple of streets is much smaller than that of posts online.

As others in this thread have noted, sirens are tested (at least) once a year locally. What makes this special is that it is a centralized test for the whole country with other channels being tested as well (TV, Radio, mobile app). Where I

We work a lot with forecast data and sometimes mistakes happen and a forecast gets written to the wrong time series or for the wrong period. In these cases we do not want to drop the complete time series but only delete the erroneous parts.

I think the difference is mostly that a bookie might give you different odds for different flights. I assume the insurance costs the same, regardless of the current likelihood that a specific flight is going to be delayed.
