> USA is no longer a superpower, they just haven't noticed it yet Well, I feel sorry for the first country that tries to test that theory. One can make an argument the global dollar is losing its hold, or that the world is expanding

Samsung has really fallen behind the last couple years IMO. They use very different chips in different regions, and refuse for some reason to embrace bigger batteries. Phones out of China these days are all sporting ~7000mah batteries, eve

As many times as I've read this story, I've never come across this. Pity, as the constant handwaving in the answers makes the entire thing seem made up.

Not disputing your personal experience, but if that were true, democrats would never win any elections. There are far more NPA than either democrats or republicans.

I found Lowes (hardware) to be one of the worst about this. I lived in an area with 4 Lowes, and never shopped at my local one because of how much more expensive everything was, and never clearance. I'm not talking a couple dollars,

The rise of AI is going to make this even worse. Think Running Man instead of 'technical difficulties.'

I was an old school SRE before the days of containerization and such. Today, we have one who is a YAML wizard and I won't even pretend to begin to understand the entire architecture between all the moving pieces(kube, flux, helm, etc)

I have a feeling, despite Google's communications, this is all an attempt to thwart the numerous ad-free YouTube apps. Another reason it should have been broken apart years ago. It's laughable that the biggest ad company in the w

That's a fair argument, and if all companies decided to pass the costs directly on to the user at checkout time, the conversation/advice would probably be a lot different. For whatever reason most do not, so it's advantageous

Of course it's a US view. It's a US site and the OP even prefaced it as such. Does every reply need to do the same? Retailers(in the US) typically eat the cost. Some industries(in the US), like gun shops, are up front about cha

I wish I could scream this from the rooftops. People should keep their debit cards locked/frozen, and only use them to get money from ATMs when needed. All other spending should go onto credit cards, for numerous reasons that have bee

Fair! My comment was probably more dramatic than it needed to be, but I was trying to paint a picture as it kinda irks me when a lot people act like farmers are 'welfare queens' just taking money and living the good life. Not th

You have to realize the vast majority of farmland is in states suceptable to floods, droughts, hurricanes, pests, frosts, etc. You can read stories of an off year where locusts were so bad they darkened the skies, for example. Compounding

Ha, I could have written this comment word for word myself. Sometimes when I think back to the good times at the office, I wonder if I miss being in the office, or if I just miss being young and full of energy. Either way, I agree it's

You can use a dryer, just don't get all the way dry. Low heat until the shirt is 'damp', then hang to finish drying is what I used to do.

Interesting. In the US at least Crotons are rather popular as houseplants. I've kept them for years, and never knew of this property or story. Assuming it's true, I wonder if any documentation exists at all from one of the affec

Dehydration is the biggest trigger for me as well, as far as I figured out. Not to be crude, but if my pee isn't basically clear, I immediately start slamming fluids until it is again.

In the US, in my experience, young people don't want to deal with cash at all. Older people do, but it's not always convenient to meet up. Most banks charge a fee for sending a wire. Sending an ACH is free, but most restrict tha

That seems to be the way the wind is blowing. Most new 'challengers' I've tried in the US either have no web access at all, or limited access that lets you view balance but not do things like transfers.
