The vast majority of ovens in the US are not convection. So any recipe is written for a standard oven. But, even convection ovens don't cook the same as an air fryer. Air fryers are like a mini turbo convection ovens. It's like

I'm inclined to try it. My current method is just a cast iron pan at highest heat and flipping three times total, but I'm willing to experiment.

Good point. They actually make see through air fryers now. I bought one as a backup but haven't used it yet, I'm interested to know if it'll just steam up and be useless or not. https://www.walmart.com/ip&#x

I'm not really against it if you like it, it was half a joke. But to me steak cooking is an art of sorts that means searing the outside while minimally cooking the inside(I'm a rare steak guy). That usually means letting it thaw

It's no secret that air fryers work like a convection oven, but they're not at all the same. Air fryers in my experience are much, much faster to cook, and easier to clean. Perfect for one or two person meals really. For example

I love my air fryer, and will probably bookmark this, but seeing a steak as one of the top recipes is blasphemy.

Same. Brave is my browser of choice, because it's the only one that checks all of my boxes. If a site blocks Brave, I'll just stop visiting said site. Same with pages that tell me to disable my ad blocker to view the content. N

Agreed. But I also thinks this sets a bit of a bad precedent. Apparently all you have to do to get a hated industry to back off is murder one of their leaders. Kind of a no win situation they put themselves into.

We're all doomed. In seriousness, that we're largely not the logical beings we pretend to be, but selfish irrational creatures. Toilet paper isn't even a necessity. Hoarding canned and dry goods I'd kind of understand.

Can't wait. The toilet paper thing was a big part in changing my thoughts and outlook on people and society at large.

Remittances and tourism are not the topic at hand here. It's the local economic effects of a swath of retirees permanently relocating to a poorer location.

Ah yes, let's burden some third world nation with an entire class of people who produce no value, and raise the costs of housing and goods for everyone around them. I'm not saying it's not smart, it's just not very savor

Pretty useless article, which I should have guessed given they misspelled the name in their title. To save you a click, it's a bunch of filler text and a one liner answer: 'a glitch.'

Absolutely, they were fantastic. I was a purchaser of said tamales pretty often. It was an older guy who said his wife made a bunch each morning, so he went out to sell them each day.

Is it similar to the US in that in theory you need a ton of permits, but in reality everyone kinda turns a blind eye to it unless you get too big/at a big venue? For example, in the past year I've seen a guy selling tamales from h

Same. People kept telling me it was a Pink Lady with a honeycrisp texture. I tried it a few times, it was neither. Not terrible or anything, but not the holy grail it was made out to be.

I'm running into this now. Boss is all but mandating everyone use Cursor. I'm not anti-AI. I don't mind asking an LLM to write me some boilerplate. But I don't want to change my tooling, nor have an integrated assistan

Unsure, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's the AMD GloFo all over again. I guess the difference is they took billions in chips subsidies so probably need to pretend to compete a while.

Full vertical integration implies big iron, or something like it. Nobody is going to buy TI 45nm today when 3nm exists and runs circles around it, no matter how good the software is. Old nodes are fine for a lot of industrial applications,

Sure, maybe water was a poor example. Let's look at milk, assuming we don't all have cows at hand here. In most places, you can only buy it in plastic and sometimes paper carton, though that seems to be dwindling. There are no o

While I agree with the ending statement largely, we have to blame the producers here. If I want water, I'm stuck with what's sold to me. Most on this site are fortunate enough to be able to drink disposables and have it whisked a

This is a solid answer, as someone on the ground. TCP is not the bogeyman people point it out to be. It's the poison apple where some folks are looking for low hanging fruit.
