This is a very depressing post because the fatalistic premise rings true. The high school hotbox can be very hard for some people. It's a good thing status starts depending on other things (expertise, success) later. When it comes helping a

This is hardly a new business strategy. Pandering to the lowest common denominator is the m.o. of a large portion of Hollywood. Tabloids have been in print practically since print was invented. Variations of the same complaints have been ma

It's the standard here in Australia. Many major intersections and highways have permanent speed cameras, hooked into a vehicle registration db, to automatically post speed tickets (with photos :) to the offender. A new camera pays for itsel

We've done that by using RPX ( https://rpxnow.com/ ). It's awesome - users with Google/Facebook/Twitter/Yahoo accounts don't have to remember their URL and more savy users can use whatever OpenID they want.

Would you give any weight to a testimonial from 'anonymous'? Email is probably a toss up. Are there legal requirements if the business wants to use the reviews in, say, advertisements? Perhaps some contact information is necessary.

The self-importance of the IT industry astonishes me sometimes. Twitter is awesome, but it's only a couple of years old, has just started taking it's first baby steps into the public consciousness, and is built on minuscule short-lived soun

How is a signup form meant to be interesting? Perhaps I'm just out of the loop, but the only thing I know about Atlas now is that it's associated with Heroku and it will cost more than $20. That's not enough.
