One other caveat is that it's designed for environments with high certification requirements like aerospace. When you're in that space, you're glad to pay those license costs for that assurance!

I work in aerospace, and it will be interesting to see when Rust will turn into the defacto standard for DAL-B or safer systems. However, if there is a language that can beat Ada, I think Rust is it, and this is one huge step to make this a

Fun fact I learned recently: The GPS reference epoch was moved from 2000 to 2001 due to an Alaskan earthquake in 2002. It's crazy how an event like that can change something like GPS! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

Personally, it's because the docs aren't that good unless you're looking for something very specific. People are talking about the fact that there are no ads, but I would think it's because of the bounce rate. I could se

To build on what others are saying, when you have a project, just learn what is dangerous and be careful when dealing with that. For example, power supplies, wiring with mains, high current or voltage for motors, or LIPOs. Once you identify

I think the biggest advantage to Click is the ability to namespace different commands to have a single entrypoint for your CLI and all your commands. For example, if you had a hardware test interface and a webserver, you could have somethin

I found creating a small Python webserver using Starlette plus a basic CLI using Click to be great for interacting and testing hardware. Python gives you an easy way to integrate with your actual code on the hardware using whatever interfac

Exactly! So much of what the Bauhaus designed was meant to use these new materials and machines to build simple and beautiful products for everyone. It was meant to allow everyone to have access to the same sort of products that used to be

The other big influence is that a lot of the members of the Bauhaus went to the US to teach, and so they influenced many of the midcentury designers that designed and built the post-war world.

One part of this is that everyone wants something that is bespoke. They want their system to unique and custom, which inherently adds complexity. I've worked on lots of projects where a customer likes what we're doing, but has a s

I've found that even if you start with #1, you end up doing #2 anyways, whether it's because the documentation wasn't complete or you didn't realize what you were trying to build until you started building it. I always s
