If you want to be part of the "platform", then it's not ready yet. Valve demoed SteamVR working on Linux a couple of months ago at Steam Dev Days, but it's not released yet. Given Valve Time, it could be anywhere from we

I've been trying to find some numbers on what kind of performance characteristics for using WebRTC unreliable datachannels (compared to the spectrum between pure UDP vs WebSockets). Do you know of any such comparisons? Or any intuition

I've been using https://github.com/keroserene/go-webrtc for a couple of prototypes, it's not pure-Go but bindings against the C++ implementation but it works (what little of it that is exposed).

Is there a process for migrating to a different email address? Let's say I used my work address to sign into a bunch of stuff, but then I leave my job and I lose access to my email address? Or say I'm migrating from using @gmail.c

Off the top of my head: - vim-plug for a plugin manager (very good regardless of concurrency) - neomake for building - vim-go added async job support using neovim a while ago for most of its functionality, which I use for writing Go My full

Neovim was largely responsible for pushing vim to add many of these features like async[0]. If anyone wants to donate towards this kind of pressure, there are links here: https://neovim.io/ [Edit/disclaimer: I have don

If anyone is curious, here is the thread in question where the vim async API was proposed and the neovim devs proposed collaboration and were shut down without actually looking at the details: https://groups.google.com/forum

The length of code of a program should not be a metric for how useful or valid it is. This is a great shortcut for something that I've been doing manually for years and I'm happy to have stumbled on it and the surrounding discussi

There's a bug that is crashing it, alas. https://github.com/shazow/ssh-chat/issues/166 Pretty sure the bug is in the autocomplete function, if anyone wants to tackle it. I might disable it for now.

Hey everyone, thanks for dropping by the main ssh-chat server (chat.shazow.net). That one is running a fairly old version of the software (/uptime -> 13579h33m20.784837542s). I just deployed the latest Github release on an east-coas

For projects where all of the dependencies are git, I use git-freeze[0] to vendor into submodules. Works great, and no external package manager dependencies for consumers. [0] https://github.com/nicerobot/git-freeze

Looking at the links mentioned in the article, they span from 2011 to 2016 as is evident from the URLs. Seems it's being updated regularly.

As a Kickstarter backer, MIT licensed code very much exceeds my expectations. Thank you! I'd love to get a playable game out of this someday, but it doesn't have to come from you. :) Best of luck, OpenAI is lucky to have you.

It seems there's a big conflation between DRM (things that actually restrict how you can use your digital goods) and per-customer builds (things that identify you as the owner but don't necessarily restrict usage, like watermarks)

Which part of Steam is DRM? Any game you purchase and install through Steam works without Steam (unless it depends on SteamWorks, VAC, or any of the other Steam services). Basically any game you can buy from a "No DRM!" shop like
