Very nice! I've been toying with a similar idea for a while too, here's some feedback and ideas from my own project: - Bug: Don't let me create empty list items. - Definitely let people make private link-only anonymous lists without being l

I suspect that people who expect and look forward to working +50 hours/week would perform much better than people who are guilted into it. Also sounds like they're well compensated for it. I liked his "special forces" analogy.

I completely agree with everything you've written except your "but here's the thing" should have been an "and here's the thing". We're all on the same page here. Yes, that's reality. Yes, it's unfortunate and we wish it wasn't so. I love Tw

It's not always so bad. I think a lot of it comes down to UX optimization. My points of reference are http://colorblendy.com/ which gets +6,000 uniques per month and http://tweepsect.com/ which gets +25,000 uniques per month. If you loo

I'm not advocating internationalization. I'm advocating for using a well-known formatting standard used by almost every mature library which is unambiguous and useful for sorting.

It's consistent. The layout of the site is simple and predictable. It's easy to figure out where to find what you're looking for and what to expect. > So? The 2nd result (MDN) does the same, looks better, and almost never contains gross

Do you not get any value out of using a product while it hasn't been shut down? Will you singlehandidly cover the developers' living expenses once the savings/investor runway is gone so that they can keep your data from being thrown away?

The parent post is a perfect example: An informative comment that nearly no one will read because I posted it too late to catch the organic influx of readers, and I didn't invest in other means of distributing it to an audience.

Doesn't support socks 4/5 proxies. :) Requests and urllib3 have a long way to go to be complete competitors with cURL. P.S. Good job nonetheless. Seems like a good idea to make a specialized HTTP CLI client for JSON/RESTful services.

As someone who knows Eric personally, I can vouch that he's not an asshole. In fact, that is literally how he thinks and those are his real motivations. He's not the type to come out and call someone else, like Craigslist's CEO, an asshole.

I've been helping Brian play test this on and off. I love how low-friction and low-commitment it is. Especially in the age when everything requires a Facebook login. Really easy to just send a link to a friend over IM and play.

You don't need to ship distro-specific packages. You could ship a tarball with a statically linked executable. Take a look at the Humble Bundle, for example. Every game published in the bundles is cross-platform, and work great Linux regard
