It's also something i wish companies would prioritize, you will be more valuable if these activities are supported by the company and not something you must do on your own time.

The whole Meta thing is a distraction, nothing more. For better and worse there is nothing to be gained by the name change. The ad business is what matters to Facebook, so i think you're right.

Drugs should be decriminalized and later legalized with varying degrees of regulation. It's happening with Cannabis now, but there is still a long way to go with drugs such as Heroin and Cocaine.

And if it wasn't enough, there is a new Matrix movie out soon. On a more serious note, it's not likely that the Meta name will have any bigger impact than Google and it's Alphabet branding. I don't see Facebook.com going

Having the camera on is not a requirement for doing actual work. It can be nice to see your fellow coworkers, but it's no substitution for an actual physical meeting. Having worked both in a remote and office setting, i much prefer the

For larger companies i can tell you that the red tape and additional overhead from GDPR is horribly expensive to implement. Not to mention the reduced happiness from working with GDPR. If Google could help remove GDPR and the Cookie law i w

So with 57B transistors for the M1 Max you can fit the AMD 5800H (10 B) and the RTX 3080 Ti (28 B) and have 19B transistors left. So the performance should be top notch but cooling and power requirements will be quite high. So battery life

Being stuck with multiple release branches where merges happen all the time, i wish branchless and Trunk-based development were on the horizon. But the switch to TBD is not just a dev change, it's as much a change for the organization.

Comparing Lebanon to the poorest country in Europe, Moldova, show at least one interesting fact besides the GDP drop. The defence expenditure is more than US$ 2 billion higher per year in Lebanon while it is nearly non-existent in Moldova.
