any idea if podman will support GPU? I couldn't get it to work.

it's highly unlikely that the performance will be great on GPU if it generates its own kernels. cutensor has been hand optimized to do exactly these types of operations in a way emitting a kernel automatically can't do.

If you're comparing it to the MI250 you're comparing it to 2 separate chips on a single card. This is fundamentally different and unless you have an ideal workload or have optimized appropriately, it's not going to hit anywhe

this isn't true. the phi was extremely complex to program for, and it was not simply a port of standard x86 code. it required you to pay attention to multiple levels of memory hierarchy, just as the GPU did.

I should have capitalized Pixel, since I meant the phone. iphone doesn't do this as far as I know. if I remember correctly it's to blur the background.

kenji just released his new book (700 pages) on woks. while OP is correct about the heat deltas, it makes no difference in practice if you have the right technique. if you want to dispute that, you're going to be disputing someone who

no, it's a fact, and what you said is misleading. 2 shots is not considered fully vaccinated anymore, especially with a country who had the booster before anyone.

I also have more than a decade of experience with satellite internet, and geostationary satellites in particular. Nobody has ever said starlink will be technically impossible; the arguments from the start have been that it is not financiall

I see your other comments and you seem very sharp, but I don't understand why you think starlink will be any different, and especially why the initial launch period is anything like a mature service. for instance, do you disagree with

they announced they hit 145,000 customers, so that math doesn't add up. they will need roughly 50:1 to be anywhere near profitable.

starlink is possibly the most hyped on the financial side. there are virtually no scenarios where they can make money and still maintain the plans they have now. I know people will disagree, but we'll have to see in a few years.

they are going to oversubscribe it. they're only slow to add users because they can't make terminals, not because they're trying to maintain an unrealistic QoS.

so, when you compare to cable do you also say 25-50Mbps speeds? because that's the minimum cable speed I'm my area. But 1Gb is the max. since when has comparing minimum speeds ever been a valid comparison?

their fastest package is 100Mbps, which is the same as starlink for most people. I'm not sure where you're getting your information.

that's not how modern satellites work. there are overlapping frequency bands and polarizations in the same location that do not interfere. there's also tdma to prevent interference.

no, it's not. streaming media is the vast majority of internet traffic, and it doesn't care at all about your latency. your capacity math is so far off it's just crazy. if they had a million times the capacity of current sate
