IMO it was a good looking show and I'm not a fan of super hero movies or really Netflix content.

Why would copyright holders let that happen? Also, how is the model trainer getting access to all of this material?

IMO the main problem is that MindGeek has way too much power in the industry. Like a lot of tech firms, it should be broken up by antitrust.

The issue with MindGeek is that they were hosting cp. Also, they have a massive market share on both the consumer and producer ends of the market and they use that power in really scummy ways. None of these issues are about stifling innovat

Pornhub was hosting cp. It's fair that they're attacked in that case to clean up their operation. Also, aside from the very much based in fact cp issue, a lot of the attacks are coming from US based religious conservatives. What e

If you think MindGeek should shutdown for the things they've done, I don't think a "new porn king" in Russia using crypto is going to solve any of those problems.

Why would it need to be some kind of conspiracy? An asteroid destroying the earth is a pretty well known danger/trope that's probably worth investing some time and money in.

I'm sure they do. It's hard to root for a company as diabolical as MindGeek but the organization fighting them (and winning in this case) has it's roots in a right wing, sex-negative, religious moralism. So yea I'm sure

> The problem is the commodification of your personal data. Can't it be both things at once? To say it's not at all the cops fault is ridiculous.

I see you point but I have to imagine the vast majority of frontend devs are targeting Chrome which is very stable. TBH in 11 years of FE dev I've never encountered anyone complaining about Chrome deprecating a feature that wasn'

As a frontend dev there are definitely well designed frontends. I've seen a lot of bad backends too. It just depends on how much engineers are able to plan ahead and also keep tech debt under control.

I read it. My point is that offshoring is going to happen no matter how many letters the CEO gets begging to go back to the office. Offshoring is happening because there are talented engineers for 1/5 the price of a US engineer and rem

I think the point is a criticism of organizational bearucracy becoming an end in itself. Any organization can probably end up here, not all are at that point and some may have control to prevent bureaucrats from gaining total control. I don

Is there anyone asking for anything in a workplace that you wouldn't call a "woke culture warrior"? Using that kind of language marks you as pretty disingenuous to the argument.
