I had this same issue when I started working on a side project. I quickly decided to store the Github API secret and client id in a property list, and then access it from there in the code. The keys are never exposed in the code and that&#x

Honestly, no they shouldn't. It's not their job to know how to write code, or how to design websites. It's their job to hook people who are looking for employees up with people looking for jobs. Do they get it right every tim

Some parts of this trend worry me. For instance, Under Armor buying MapMyFitness. People will still buy Under Armor products even if they don't have the post-purchase technology connection. How exactly does owning the app that many peo

I totally get that. From playing with Heyday for a few minutes I noticed that it's not a replacement, but it's a great way to consolidate photos.

Curious to know how you and other people on HN think about how this stacks up to existing journaling apps, like Day One and Memoir. Do you see it replacing Day One or complementing other apps like that?

It's well known that Apple doesn't post in the forums. I know plenty of things about people, but that doesn't stop this from being an unhelpful comment. Again, if they want to speak to someone at apple, they should call the c

Because this is again an unhelpful comment that goes agains the TOS. He/She also makes some interesting claims that iOS 7 went untested which is just funny.

They are for users to talk to other users. Not everyone knows about StackExchange. And you can get there from the support site, which is a good place for a user with an issue to be.

There's mail support built into OS X Server. Will it handle as many users as an exchange server? Probably not, but the built in mail clients on all of the iOS and Mac devices handle exchange email _relatively_ well (duck and hide!). As

My issue here is that BorrowABook is a verb. This isn't a model class, and in my understanding of OOP, doesn't really deserve a class by itself at all. You could instead put the borrow method in a class called Book that represente

I wonder if this would still be the case if fewer states had punted the work to the federal government. The fact is that the federal government is running 36 exchanges was never the plan.

With iCloud this is super easy (or the new dropbox apis), but if the developer has set it up properly, there are a few ways to migrate data. It can be encoded and opened up as a url is the easiest way that I can think of.

The fact that the BBC's new strategy is to deliver apps for both platforms at the same time really says something in my opinion. Developers are just now starting to decide that Android is worth it. Not a huge endorsement if you ask me. Andr
