Anything that pushes Textmate to actual finish version 2 is not a bad thing in my book.

At 27 (not that old I know) I'm often on the road for work. I played sax for years as a kid but I haven't picked one up in at least 12 years. Recently I taught myself blues harp (harmonica) because it's something I can slip in my bag. With

It's interesting though about the platform for your social network defining what is acceptable. I can understand Facebook making a clear decision to have their platform not be about Porn and sex, but this seems a little bit too far.

I think that's my point, traffic is great, but when does revenue matter? Youtube still has insane traffic but even Google can't make them close to profitable.

For once I think Arrington has a valid point. What success criteria do we apply to startups? It seems like Business Week sees VC capital as success. The article TechCrunch points to ( http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/106341/Most

I think cross-colo is a size thing. BCP is good for all business, but most start ups can't afford to pay for hosting in several data centers. I image cheap way to fake multiple colos now is to use visualization, amazon style. Heck you could

That wasn't entirely his point. He definitely also meant it's easier to dominate a smaller market with less competition than a be a medium player in a big market.

Or by adding value. I believe Y! still unofficially ignore the scraping of our address books because it was adding value to our users even though the services that did it broke our Ts&Cs and used the username/password anti-pattern. In t

The cameras can't look everywhere, without operators helping to guide where they should be looking there are lots of things they miss, or potentially incriminating evidence they miss. For example, if a crime is committed but the criminals f

I think it depends on the kind of upgrade. Seldo is describing a major migration to a new platform. In the case of a point release a rolling migration or the type I described above are the norm. When doing a major release seldo is spot on.

I've done rolling deployments but also a similar but different way at Yahoo!. We have access to multiple colos of slightly over-capacity machines. It's not uncommon to migrate by switching all traffic over to one colo. Then upgrade the next

I think the guy might be over his bandwidth service limit. I reported the issue to the internal Y! service team so hopefully if it isn't a bandwidth quota thing the site should be back up shortly. Frustratingly it's not in either the Goog o

The point is valid, the "signs" to back it up are tenuous and the attempts at humour lame. While I don't disagree with the author's premise the article probably isn't worth your time reading.

I totally accept it's not a perfect indication of authorship (or ownership). That's a much harder problem. It's more than a little big of extra granularity would help. This has been recognized as the case with blogspot.com and it seems like
