Also does JSONP for use in the front-end. It would be nice, vicaya, if you fact checked before throwing stones.

JSConf was ridiculously good. I say that as someone who goes to a lot of conferences. Also I met a bunch of folks from HN, and that's never bad.

You should read Fog Creek's take on this http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog0000000038.html

You still shouldn't use @import, which is a designer sucking programming. @import can cause FOUC as well as slowing down page render a lot.

This is a short post mostly devoid of content, where the author argues that "Best Practices" are an oxymoron if everyone is doing them. This is based on an assumption that at given point in time there isn't an ideal solution (or an approxim

Most significant paragraph from the whole piece: Though YUI performs ably, it’s my opinion that the numbers seen in TaskSpeed should be taken with a hefty grain of salt. The tests are designed to exercise library abstraction logic against

This is some good advice. However, I would say you need to use something like YUI-Fonts ( http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/fonts ) before you go mucking about with font sizing in browsers. This is because it varies across browsers.

It's very interesting, but I dislike how the article refers to a "thinking machine". The computer is finding a best match algorithm from a search space in an experiment designed by people.

I wish they had covered more about the tracking. For example cli.gs has similar tracking capabilities to bit.ly but the cli.gs interface is way more annoying. Cli.gs also has geo targeting which is unique to my knowledge.

The pricing is crazy. For things without a fixed cost you should be charging pence for 1000s of results not 1s. For phone and txt you have fixed costs and that's obvious, but I would reprice with everything except the phone and text at the

You should export as a alpha-transparency PNG-8 not PNG-24. The reason for this is that IE6 won't render any PNG-24 transparency it just makes it all opaque. However with PNG-8 IE6 will make all alpha transparency transparent. This means IE

I like the site, so it's kind of a shame for me that you called it "Da Button Factory". It just feels childish and cheesy. Was there a reason for "Da" instead of "The"? Programming isn't "gangsta" rap, after all.

This comparison misses something key, the Wii's innovation wasn't aimed in this direction. The Wii completely broke the mold in a number of other, apparently (by its sales), more significant ways. I can fully appreciate not building an arch

I did the same as this guy. My conclusions Flot (mentioned in his previous article) still kicks ass but needs a bit more work. Emprise is really nice if you are happy to pay. Personally I think Flot does an equivelent job for free. Although

This is actually the problem with a lot of the W3C standards (I should know I've worked on 3). Often times the working groups identify a problem that needs to be solved, but there isn't a solution. The web moves so fast there is this great
