Huge congratulations to Raphael. I had the chance to see a preview of his presentation, and I was impressed right away. The market is obviously hugely competitive (who really wants to take on MS, google, etc?), and those were the biggest qu

Wow, incredibly cool. I did the same thing with collection of curl / grep / sed / awk, and it was awful. I later redid it with some python library, and then with hpricot, and most recently with scrubyt. Each step was a little bit better, bu

It just doesn't add anything of value to the conversation. We all know it's a great hack, so it's just white noise to post it. Not a hugely big deal. Just try to avoid the echo chamber and instead provide unique insight on the subject.

Wow, a very nice accomplishment for any age, but especially at 17. Congratulations Mark - this mean you're going out to NYC?

That's true, but as you said, Apple is very careful in phrasing their criticisms. Microsoft's flaws are drawn out from comparisons, not explicitly stated by Apple's guy (I don't know the actor's name). The viewer then makes the predetermine

It's easy to get too caught up in the heat of competition to remember civility. Suppressing the, "I'm gonna CRUSH the competition" urges makes for more enjoyable relationships, a better atmosphere, and most importantly, better decisions.

There's not too much in here that's going to be news to people. About the only interesting part is the reduction in merge times and how well it's scaled for them. But two sentences makes for a short article. Still, it's nice to hear concret

This reads much less like a clear explanation of "What Entrepreneurs Should Not Do", and much more like, "Huhuh, dude, check out this idiot and his idiot paper, huhuhu!". Classy, Cuban.

Very interesting advice on how to make the most of the DemoPit. It seems like a complete scam to me - anyone not accepted into TC50 is invited to pay $3,000 for what will likely be nothing of value. But if you take the approach this startup

Speaks to the danger of building your business on an API that can change at someone else's whim. Also, the importance of being very thorough in your testing. Still, I'm glad you were able to catch it in time and reverse the trend.

Well, of course, I didn't mean to stop eating entirely. Just after 8PM, as suggested in the article. That seems easy enough. I agree with you regarding the health issues of spending too much time on a computer deeply absorbed in a problem.

Jessica Mah seems like a very talented individual - certainly very entrepreneurial (though she doesn't like the term for whatever reason). This may be the first of her startups to post any revenue, but it's a huge step. All the best of luck
