The "doc" page starts off with about 800 words of philosophy. At first I thought it was AI generated, but it's too strange and rambling. https://if.openages.com/doc Excerpt: > In the process of biological

The website claims "Privacy First" but there's no end-to-end encryption (Obsidian has it, OmniFocus has it) and not any mention of server-side encryption either.

Ah yes, the "I've never been hacked so I must be secure" argument ;) Unfortunately, you're not convincing anyone. Amongst the security conscious, multi-year uptimes are the opposite of a brag. And it doesn't matter

No, I didn't say assume it is production quality, I said "judge". In other words, measure it against a higher standard. First person compared it to WireGuard, next person said yeah but it's probably for education, and I&

To be fair, there's no mention on the README that it's for research or education, so I think it's reasonable to judge it as a "production" tool.

Worth noting that Firefox for iOS isn't actually truly Firefox. Due to platform rules, browsers on iOS are all required to use the webkit engine so they all are basically just reskins of Safari.

Yeah, have to say it can be annoying when titles get editorialized, and even more annoying when the editorialized title is badly written! Note to the submitter, HN FAQ says: > Otherwise please use the original title, unless it is mislead

Yeah, no. You're overestimating how much overhead btrfs has. 500MB/s read/write is way more than it needs. I wasn't even doing any sustained writes. In any case, I've been burned by btrfs issues on SSDs several time

It's not a crappy USB drive. It's a high-end high-performance Sandisk USB drive. Regardless, I still expect the choice of filesystem to not hard freeze my OS. I've had janky crappy USB drives before and with any other filesys

I recently tried btrfs on a new USB thumb drive. I immediately got hard freezes of my main (Linux) OS while working with the USB stick. Never again. I eagerly await bcachefs reaching maturity!

In your first comment, you said it "seems weird" that Julia doesn't like Vi-mode. In this comment, you quote Julia talking about Emacs-mode. Which doesn't really follow on from your first comment.

Well my point was that if you're starting off by writing tests, AI assistance is low-risk: the test code should be simple and concise enough to review very quickly. So you're not blindly trusting. Tests also tend to have a repetit
