I always find interesting to read comments from people who actually lived in the former eastern block countries, like the DDR. Most of what you can read about socialism in english-speaking communities like this one comes only from people wh

Thanks for your advice. Being my first computer a MSX, it's good to know the GameBoy CPU is similar to the Z80. When I read it was a custom Sharp one, I thought it was a completely different world.

So, how does one guy not familiar with this low level stuff, nor with GB internals or those 8-bit processors starts writing an emulator like this? Is there any suggested road one could follow, or something like that?

I'd never turn an application down automatically just because the candidate didn't list the javascript framework of the month in their CV. In my job -where I'm not in HR- I've seen plenty of candidates with hundreds of s

It was Sun, wasn't it? I mean, ZFS has always been CDDL licensed, even before it was acquired by Oracle. If it once was native in OSX, then it was under the same licensing terms it is today, right?

So has been Cocoa with Gnustep for more than 20 years. And it's completely useless. Nobody does Objective-C in Linux for anything serious.

> Oracle remaining evil and Microsoft making waves in open source these days That's just PR. But real projects need sound technical motivations for making such a move.

I don't use any product from Microsoft. I understand Microsoft is for-profit, but there's no way they can get a single dime from me, and I don't want to become a second-class citizen. That's why I would be leaving.

Well, considering all this "telemetry" thing they have been pushing down its customer's throats, I wouldn't be comfortable at all with this move.

Yes they want... yet it has been Windows only for a year and a half, so far. That's the problem with Microsoft buying big things like Github. It turns people not using their flagship OS into second class citizens.

Well, you know, this wasn't just an "insane" guy at the top who now left the company and everything's cool. Companies have culture, and while we can agree today Microsoft's not the same Microsoft from 10 years ago,

Azure, VS... Yes, I know Microsoft has tons of things to offer to their customers. But not everybody in Github is into Microsoft tech. In fact, most are not. So that's what worries me: trying to tie Github to their products and strateg

Well, I know Microsoft XML format has the word "Open" in its name. But is it open? Can other vendors achieve 100% compatibility with the official Office products' formats? I don't think so.

I'm talking about all the Microsoft software available only for Windows, and all the closed services they won't let you use without the official client. I think it's the same story.

It's sad but true. People's Party has been using our terrorist problems to attack other parties when they were the opposition. They feel very comfortable with everybody talking about nothing but Catalonia or the Basque Country.
