I'm still in the 'meh' camp for flakes. I use niv and it gives me enough usability. I find the need to include additional libraries to make flakes usable for some reason a weird hurdle I don't personally enjoy (i.e. fla

Ruby definitely optimizes for the writer but it fails for the reader (a saying I say quite frequently at work).

Bought the book....kind of shallow. It's more geared to the user facing side or how to specify compiler command line flags.

Funny enough I introduced Nix to our company which was acquired by Google -- so Google has software leveraging Nix. (I got Google to in fact sponsor Nix which was nice too. A small amount but it was meaningful to me).

I wish this blog post had more meat to it. It was pretty minimal on information. This is also due to the fact that I tend to value Graham's posts highly :)

Love the idea and we are all thinking Nix needs the Docker treatment. I believe though that something has restart from scratch rather than rely on Nix. Nix ushered the idea but needs a new face. Building on top of it may be too problematic

I introduced Nix into our build setup as well. We are an acquisition within Google and it's been quite a fun adventure incorporating it alongside Bazel. Nix has been great but I've run up against a few thorny edges. Luckily I'
