Pretty much, except in coding theory you have to be explicit about your alphabet. Hall took this further, by positing that in television, viewers use individual and heterogeneous decoders. Anyway, the point is that the channel used to commu

I believe the point of the technique is that it may avoid some heuristics that malware scanners use to identify loaders.

This does qualify as (very poor) encoding, to me - the malicious code is stored in padded ASCII, which has to be decoded to unpadded before being interpreted. It doesn't use metadata, though, and I wouldn't call it steganography,

Range and mode won't save you from the quartet, and they're a red herring in any case (you'd need to add statistics until you go blue in the face).

What's more, half-open intervals are more naturally 1-based, setting the missing point at 0. Dijkstra's arguments are very assailable, despite being trotted out in every discussion as arguments from authority. The crux of the issu

Words of different languages are often suggested for a ban, but fail the real-world test. Countless languages borrow words from one another, especially names. For example, some people argue that calling Marie Skłodowska-Curie simply Curie m

You're ignoring the divisor. For example, √(2·3)÷(2+3) < √(2·2)÷(2+2) but (2·3)÷(2+3) > (2·2)÷(2+2).

The allegation there, from what I can see, was that a someone had a bot controlling five accounts. That's enough to impact even the corrected version of this ranking, and as such is only moderately relevant.

The first downvote pushes the submission down below every positive submission ever, not just below the last 12 hours' worth. It can only recover if upvoted from other views.

That's not a feature of O; that's simply a feature of leaving stuff out. O is a simplification of a function, but says nothing about how to construct the function. You need to have your (implicit) computational model before you ca

Meanwhile, many of those languages with accented characters have no use for letters like z. It's not really worth mentioning the alphabet when talking about unique features of English.

I would classify XCom: Enemy Unknown as console game, not a PC game. But the important point is that it's not an iPad game, and as such is automatically "worth" more due to having a different anchor.
