No, that's not what "targeted" means, you're just making that up. In this context, targeted means he was attacked because he was in some list/satisfied some criterion.

Ok thank you, but I haven't changed my mind. In practice people with more power will get their way, regardless of what's written on the charter of some company.

No, and I don't think it particularly matters. In practice , the people who signal they'll make their friends rich will have the most backers. The board is just there to give the appearance of checks and balances. If these two cl

I've been using syncthing to synchronize encrypted files and obsidian files (separate use cases) and I'm quite happy. Just one data point.

Blast from the past from my days in the academia. Ok thanks for sharing. (I still disagree about everything you said about Julia though. I bet you I could re-implement this faster in Julia thank your C++, and in a type generic way too which

Interesting case! Lets discuss. I don't know/use Unitful, but if that function didn't fail it's because the guys who wrote Unitful defined a promotion rule from Int to their Unit thingy. So.... that's how their type

Who would pay for this? Random people like you and me wouldn't pay for something they're gonna use twice in their lifetime, and lawyers surely have something like this, possibly integrate with all the other tools they use.

Going all in is precisely the point. The biggest selling point of Julia is that it's as easy to write as python if you don't care about performance, and if you do care about performance it's as fast as C++ if you can just fol

That sounds reasonable. I might explore pdf -> markdown -> epub. I wonder if this could somehow be used directly by calibre. I think calibre's pdf->epub conversion isn't amazing. In particular, tables often end up broken.
