Politically speaking that was very long ago. I doubt any of the recent U.S. administration's would have jailed Enron execs.

Thank you! I hate people on Reddit who advocate for those cheap keys. If you don't follow the license you are pirating it. Simple as that. Now whether or not piracy is okay is a whole different issue.

I just started hosting my own email and haven't had trouble emailing Gmail, though I have limited testing. I have SPF, dkim and dmarc all set up, would that help?

Crucial makes 32GB DIMMs with ECC memory, not sure if non-ECC. Many Ryzen mobos accept ECC memory.

Would one get the same counselor? I have schizoaffective disorder and there is no way I would want to "see" a new counsellor each time. One needs to form a connection and develop trust.

Just a home labber here. I use Kolla for my openstack environment and it's been really easy to install and manage.

I really wish Gmail would stop changing so frequently. It probably objectively isn't that bad, but having to teach older, not so tech competent relatives where things moved to is a real pain.

I do that too, really upsets my wife when I just can't help but laugh when I have angered her. I have taken to apologizing while laughing and saying that I acknowledge my response is inappropriate, but I can't help it. Helps somet

I know it is trite, bit stay strong, things can get better. I have schizoaffective disorder and I did find a mix of medication that helps a lot, but it literally took 13 years to find the mix with a couple suicide attempts during that perio

I wonder if this is at least in part due to IBM buying RedHat. InkTank, the main company behind Ceph was bought by RedHat not too long ago.

That doesn't account for redundancy and backups. I have asked some storage cost questions on /r/sysadmin and /r/datahoarder in the past about cost per TB and I tend to see numbers ranging from $300 to $1000 a TB of

So what you're saying is that sysadmins should all benchmark Oracle products to prevent their employers from being trapped in Oracle land?

How not? You can map an rbd image from multiple VMs/servers at the same time, just if you want to do so you need a multi-client aware filesystem. Otherwise if you just need something attached to a single host you just format the volume

I am rather sleep deprived, so I may have misread things, but this doesn't seem to me to be the best benchmark to evaluate Ceph for database work. From what I understand best practice in ceph for databases is to make a rbd image and fo

If only they let one install MacOS on non-Apple hardware. I am sure lots of companies will love to get rid of their hacky Mac Mini or Mac Pro rackmounts.

There is no legally available full collection. Twitch did a full run with NBC (I think it was that channel) as a stream last year and a bunch of people screen-capped it and uploaded it to a few places. I got my copy from a btsync link.

I find the tone odd at the end, like they were trying to elicit some sympathy for VW for still dealing with emissions scandal fallout. Is this a sign of how things are at VW these days? We are probably going to need a "new for us"

Speaking as a pfSense user, it isn't hard to build a rack mountable router. I used an Intel Rangeley C2758 and put it and a power supply, and a pair of SSDs to mirror the install in a 2U chassis. Nothing would have stopped me using a 1

Ugh, not a cryptocurrency trader, but I recently learned that by having U.S. citizenship from birth, and though I never lived there, I'm responsible for FBARs and tax-filing in the states. $4000 or so later and I'm compliant now.
