I think a nice addition would be familiarity with the OSI model. It can be really useful having an understanding of it, at least a rough one, when trouble shooting network issues.

Seems like a very good buy. I generally like O'Reilly books. That said I am still very disappointed they decided to stop selling ebooks directly in favour of pushing their subscription service. Other than HumbleBundle I don't know

In defense of ceph the documentation is fantastic and ceph clusters have only gotten easier toanage with every release. I am a homelabber, not a sysadmin and I run a cluster and have only run into one or two issues that the docs or patch no

Pretty good timing for me. I am hoping to expand my homelab and other than my pfSense router and FreeIPA box (both on C2000) everything else is on the older xeon-d's. I may not move to the newer ones (looking at what supermicro has lis

If it launches I am curious to see how performance is, I have strong doubts that there is a large enough population in North America with enough bandwidth and low enough latency to have a good experience.

It really would be nice if Apple had some rack-mount servers again for all the companies needing build farms for iOS apps.

Thanks for the response. Really to bad that one doesn't know how much the profit was. The setup seems pretty sophisticated from a business standpoint. Does one generally suspect traditional organized crime groups to set these things up

I am amazed at how structured the operation was. Is there any estimate as to how profitable a campaign on this scale (or any scale for that matter, I do not know where money enters into the equation)?

Brb, writing an article about how Gordon Rugg and Donald Fisk's previously thought-to-be-meaningless text was deciphered by an AI. Did they channel ancient Bengali spirits when writing it? Read more to find out.

I don't think it will go closed source, however I am strongly in the camp prefering GPL licensed code for putting the user first. Toy knowledge Google has not GPLed anything ever, tending to prefer their own open source license.

What I do is a little complex, but works fairly well. I store my data in CephFS, mount that read-only (CephX permission also allow only read access) on a Linux box with a ZFS array which uses borg to copy from the mount to the array. The ba

I store my data in a five node ceph cluster via CephFD, backed up to a ZFS RAIDz2 array on another box (pull backups) and also to crashplan for my off-site backup.

I found this pretty useless. The security impact for most things is "you're fine if you can guarantee you are only running trust code". We know that. TWhat I was hoping for were some sort of benchmarks.

I really hope we get a readily accessible test. My father-in-law has it and it would really help my wife and I plan for the future if we knew she was going to develop it later.

Big fan of ubiquity APs myself, but you may still want more than one AP depending on how many clients you have. I am at about 13-15 clients once you add everything together and I find my spectrum a little crowded. The range on the LR is fan
