Why should it be? Theres a strict process in place to request it, it requires phycological evaluation, you can't request it in an unsound state of mind (too far gone into dementia for example). If someone has a terminal disease then wh

I thought it was me searching about a Brother laser printer mentioned in another thread on HN... Considering I am in BC it seems like I should be using a closer DC.

Take a look at Kuhl brand pants. Lots of their designs have stealth phone pockets.

Chrome Remote Desktop is honestly not a bad option for something like this. It has an unattended mode and you can set long passphrases in addition to 2FA/etc.

Guacamole is a slightly different use case, it depends on a server in the middle. You connect to Guacamole, it RDPs/VNCs/etc to the target.

Air Canada isn't perfect but Delta is junk. I have flown on both many times. Many counties have their own airline. Canada shouldn't automatically give up our airline in favor of a US one, because the US one wants in.

I've had files sitting on Google Drive for longer than IPFS has existed. Let's not pretend that IPFS/etc is a solution to relying on services that are far older than it.

That doesn't even make sense. Dropbox and BitTorrent are not providing the same service. Maybe you're trying to compare to Resilio Sync but still wrong. Non-technical people need things like Dropbox. You not liking Dropbox doesn&#

Not really, my Vizio has no connection to anything (firewall drops it's traffic, and it's on a separate VLAN). It takes 15 seconds to respond to input changes after waking it up.

Maybe you closely analyse mailers/junk mail/etc but most people ignore it. If it's not an envelope it goes into my recycling bin directly as a stack. It is waste, especially for people who don't recycle.

I was salty about that too, but it wasn't a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) product. It just had cloud in its name.

Duplicacy is much faster than Restic for backups and. That was was the overwhelming consensus when I was researching backup software. I use Duplicacy and Rclone, each for different types of data.

Rclone will do exactly what you want, upload to S3 and the --max-duration will stop new transfer from starting after a given duration. There are also throttle options for bandwidth. I use that combined with Node-Red and a smart plug on my m
