I had this experience starting a new company recently. Every single SaaS product seemed to have a dozen onboarding floating modals that need to be dismissed. It would have been impossible to read them all. In most cases I had used the produ

Is it obvious? Do you have the figures? One month of £1bn savings vs what cost over the last 20 years? I support the roll out of renewables. I worked for a renewable energy company in the UK. I just think a lot of consumers (industry and re

Does this cancel out the high energy prices people in the UK have been paying for the past decade+? Part of the reason the bills are high is because they subsidise the installation of renewable generation.

I switched to use LLMs exclusively since around March last year and I haven’t wrote a line of code directly since then. I have followed the usual autocomplete > VS Code sidebar copilot > Cursor > Claude Code > some orchestrator

All of the ads are gone from the stream?! As a viewer I don’t think this is in my interest as I think they will get a lot less prestige guests now. They have interviewed some huge names recently.

This web app has very little design-wise in common with the iOS app. It doesn’t even serve the same use case. They’ve hurt their brand here really, which is a high quality native app experience that makes sense of a lot of granular data fro

GitHub going down during office hours in a large enterprise has knock on effects for hours as well. Especially if you are in a monorepo.

It feels like people do this to Canada to get in to the USA as well. Ireland->UK seems to be increasing as well because of the Common Travel Area. I think a lot of historical agreements of this nature will not hold up in the era of mass

Same here. I receive a training budget at some places but it goes unspent. Everything is self directed learning in my own time.

We should remember that local journalism has been dead for a decade in most of the UK, largely due to social media. Any tool like this that can help important stories be told, by improving journalist access to data and making the process mo

I use a trackpad exclusively with MacOS. If I want it immediately on the desktop then I can just "swipe away" (to the right) the thumbnail and it skips the pause. Not perfect but I do value being able to edit it from there, or rig

I don’t think it’s actually a company. It’s simply a side project that gained a lot of rapid velocity and seems to have opened a lot of people’s eyes to a whole new paradigm.

Something I’ve noticed recently is that I press notifications by accident a lot more frequently. They just always pop in right when I’m trying to do something else. I suspect it’s because of the smart widget UI at the top of the screen that

But if the landlord owns the pub (rare in the UK I know), but I believe it’s the case in this instance, then what are they getting from unrealised property price gains?

Wow a fantastic independent pub near where I used to live in London is seeing its rateable value go up 480%! This website really puts the headlines in to a nice local perspective. It seems like the taxes only go up while the services get wo

It’s interesting to me because CSS is very stable. It doesn’t really change that often. It’s great foundational knowledge to have for people who build for the web.

It's very easy to not read the code, just like it's very easy to click "approve" on requests that the agent/LLM makes to run terminal commands.

Is it possible for humans to review that amount of code? My understanding of the current state of AI in software engineering is that humans are allowed (and encouraged) to use LLMs to write code. BUT the person opening a PR must read and un

There are examples on YouTube of laughter tracks being removed and there are lots of awkward pauses, so I think you'd need to edit the video to cut the pauses out entirely. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23M3eKn1FN0

I would be interested in a web series (podcast or video) where people who do not know a language create something with AI. Then somebody with experience building in that technology reviews the code and gives feedback on it. I am personally
