I'm reminded of my old collection of Dauphin DTR-1's: https://www.google.at/search?q=dauphin+dtr-1&um=1&hl... We've come a long way since those days .. but then again, maybe its the same, just .. shinier.

Same here. I only have a Mac so I can develop for iOS with it. There is no other reason to have it, in this house - everything else I do with my Mac, I can do equally well if not better with my Linux workstation. Its just that its almost

2 years isn't really that long. Well, it is when you're young, I suppose, but once you get over the mid-20's, you're going to start seeing time speed up quite a deal. Check back again in 10 years. Its not so far off .. ;)

The MidiShare folks had something interesting to say about lock-free coding in the late 90's, early 2000's. Unfortunately their papers are not available in grame.fr's re-design but they are available through archive.org: http://web.archiv

I have a few questions, in case anyone knows - I wasn't able to find answers: Does it run Android itself, and can I therefore put my own apps on it easily enough? (This point is not clear - could it be an 'accessory' to Android, somehow?)

For $250, I've built an Android and Ubuntu tablet, using the Pandaboard ES as the base with a 10.1" capacitive touchscreen (multi-touch). It functions extremely well and makes me wonder why no serious manufacturers are pursuing this avenue

Me too. I've been a vi/vim users for 20+ years, and I swear by vim for C/C++-based development - but now that I'm mostly doing Lua (MOAI), SublimeText2 has become my absolutely most loved tool. It is really one of those editors that becam

Audio folks like to have as much power as possible - it allows them to pile on plugin after plugin without much fuss. Every bit of CPU power gained from an upgrade is promptly put to use in doing audio processing .. and I would imagine that

I bought a Pandaboard ES on Friday, it was on my desk by Monday. 3 times the cost, but about 5 times the power.

Wake up and smell the coffee .. this is about what the rest of the world pays for programming hours, and it should be so: programming is overpaid in the US.

They have to get the hardware out there, first and foremost. Zii Labs (Creative Labs Plaszma OS partners) could have easily competed with iOS in its earlier days, if only they'd gotten the hardware out there. They lost because they didn't

This is all about Tizen. Samsung, and its associates and partners in various markets around the world, knows that iOS can be competed with, rapidly, by a Linux-based alternative. It has been proven already with Android, and as we all well

Audio cannot be played automatically -only when a user event occurs. Audio cannot be streamed playlist-style, one after the other - again, it always requires user input. So this screws things up completely for html5-based games with audio.
