Very awesome:) It's _almost_ fast enough to feel like you're modifying it in realtime on my macbook air. This is a great demo of what might be possible with this responsive programming approach.

Thanks, I'm plenty aware of gdb and debuggers:) (ex-google software engineer, etc etc) Go watch the video. Bret presents a very cogent vision for a dramatic improvement on most of today's standard engineering/design tools.

Good point, I hadn't thought about the fact they might be polling for changes. Might be better if livecoding used an event based model to check for updates...

This would be a great demo to see running in a responsive programming environment, ala Bret Victor's amazing Inventing on Principle talk ( http://vimeo.com/36579366 ). I want to be able to click on hex values and get a color picker that up

There's a video further down the page that shows a prototype working, with accompanied sound. When I saw that, it became clear why the sound of the product isn't in the top video:)

I hate open office plan environments. I feel very lucky to work from my own home office full time now. That being said, I've done my time in open offices. Some things to try: - Try saying "No" to interruptions. This is probably better w

Here's their original trailer, which made me fall in love with the idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6O5QXj6n18 Alas, it turns out falling in love with the idea of the game wasn't the same as falling in love with actually playing the

I'm a fulltime developer, and a macbook air 13" is my main machine. I love it, and wouldn't trade it for anything. The battery life is better than I've ever had before (4-5 hours in real world scenarios), and the portability can't be beat

Yep, I understand that. Still, spot pricing it relatively consistent over time, with occasional temporary spikes. A dynamic web version with this format would work too. It's less important to me that I can print it out, since I probably w

This is very useful. Spot instance costs would be really doubly useful, particularly if you can put them alongside on-demand costs.

This is standard practice in NYC and SF. If you're going to look at an apartment, you bring your checkbook and are prepared to leave a deposit on the spot if you want the place.

I run a business(appmonsta.com) that relies heavily on a whole bunch of various periodic processes running when they should. I'd easily pay $19 to worry less at night about whether everything ran like it should have. I'm not sure whether

Check out http://www.apptopia.com/ I haven't sold an app through them, but it looks great. Similar to Flippa, but mobile only, and perhaps better and more credible than Flippa. It's great to see someone finally doing this right...

I have a chronic neck issue. I've tried a bunch of high end chairs, and had the best luck with a Steelcase Think. It's very possibly too small for me (I'm 6'1"), but everything else I've tried flairs my neck in bad ways.
