Interesting discussion :) Gold has a relatively stable supply now but back in history we've experienced several gold rushes that I imagine made prices turbulent. From my limited understanding of Bitcoin the supply is also going to be

I don't own any Bitcoin nor have I ever but why would being a burger with it stop you being sceptical? I mean you cannot (at least to my knowledge) buy burgers with gold/ETFs/Stocks, doesn't the same apply to Bitcoin?

I used AWS Lambda with API Gateway to provide a single API endpoint allowing other services to exchange authentication keys for new tokens. The functionality was so small and temporary it was great to be able to not need to provision anythi

Your reasoning seems to contradict itself, it's a very complex black box of limited internals yet you were able to still easily glean big winners? Stock picking is the same as gambling, you look for value and try overtime to beat the m

I'm not so sure, I think if new elections were called in the next few weeks (will not happen) I'd imagine support for explicitly pro-independence parties would drop.

Oh I know you're not allowed a referendum, you should be though. What I was referring to was public opinion polls, I've never seen one conducted that resulted in 50% or higher in favour of full independence.

I've never seen a poll that lists support for full independence at 50% or higher, could you please provide a link?

A counter to your point #1, a few companies ago where I worked we were asked on mass to provide positive reviews on Glassdoor to attract new candidates. I think overall it's good for a quick check on morale if there are >20 reviews.

In almost every job I've had I will approach for a raise with a list of my achievements, cost savings and recommendations. I will also indicate where I see my future impact and value specific to the business. Most of the time I will g

It is much more complicated than this. Yes there are a lot of flags but there are also lots of places where there are no flags. In my building in Barcelona there are 10 flats. 2 flats have occupants who speak Catalan as the mother tongue,

I don't think is the sort of posting we want on hackernews, either provide some context or advice for the OP as this is not helpful and doesn't contribute anything.

In Spain. It's been a nice discussion, I do disagree with the statement of you know what goes into a baby with formula. At the end of the day weight gain is the best indicator not to mention the problems of formula fed babies being mo

This could be a cultural difference from here in Spain. Sorry that you both had go through that. Perhaps the common thread we've both faced is that people will judge and interject with whatever you do for your children.

I agree pragmatism is the best way forward. As long as production is up though and the baby is putting weight on well I personally wouldn't push for formula nor would my partner. I think the problem we found with our personal situatio

I'd say the conditions you listed are wholly acceptable, lack of milk, psychological concerns etc. I fully support women who choose to formula feed. I've found though that most people push formula more than anything. My partner

I'd love to see a timeline feature where I can play back a session of note taking from a day or plot it out into a nice JS timelined graph automatically based on journal entries.

Play is probably fine if you use Scala, the Java side is painful. I've worked with Play (Java version) for 3 years and we're moving to Spring Boot now, it's much simpler and stable (from a feature and framework perspective).
