Yeah I fail to see why I would get this over a Galaxy or iPhone (if OS doesn't matter). They claim the best phone camera yet it doesn't have OIS so it isn't going to be the best for video I doubt.

Camera doesn't have OIS. That is a disappointment considering the price.

From the little I remember about the original Xbox I thought it was a Celeron CPU with Nvidia GPU running a Win2K-based cut down kernel? I would have thought that would be very easy to emulate??

My understanding (which could easily be wrong) is that it works similar to Sandboxie. However it looks like it is using the Hyper-V container functionality they recently announced. So basically when you run this protected Edge session it st

I think Go depends in if Google want to take it from a language that solves their problems well to one that solves generic enterprise problems.

There is nothing "simple" about Java once you get past the basics. When you get into the EE world it gets extremely complicated.

I have been programming in C++ for almost 17 years now and I would say I know maybe 20-25% at most. The reality of C++ is you know what is needed for the problem you need to solve. As people mostly work in the same (broad) areas for their d

Telemetry related of course. Shame it is not properly documented. As with all things closed source we have no idea how this works, when it is updated or if it is possible to ignore it totally.

I don't think shippers are just about breaking a TV. I believe it comes down to the, perhaps, subconsciousness of "TV = fragile" whereas a box with a bike, something we expect to be pretty solid, doesn't seem like it wou

All of the characters in H&CF are great but god damn I love Lee Pace's Joe MacMillan. The overall production is great as well with mostly correct terms and hardware for the time. I really enjoyed season 1 of Mr. Robot but season 2

This is the biggest problem I have with any of Zed's content. To me it feels like he is saying "learning this stuff is fucking useless. Get a job running a KFC as programming sucks". I mean for God sake how patronising. If I

I have been predicting this for a while. I keep saying "hmm maybe in a year or two" but it never seems to happen :) I still believe the future of macOS will be ARM though. Apple have invested so damn much in making their own SoC t

I have always felt NetBeans lagged behind Eclipse (and Idea) under Sun and even more so under Oracle. I think transferring to Apache would be a good thing overall for the NetBeans project.

Yeah the first edition wasn't so good. It got quite a big re-write for the second edition which came out quite quickly (in terms of a C book getting a second edition anyway).

Did you read the first or second edition? The first edition had a lot of issues, the second edition was a lot better.

But a BMW M5 is a good car. Sorry but I don't get your comparison. I will happily pay £100+ for a good book but I don't feel Learn C the Hard Way is worth buying at $30 when you can get better books for less. Would you pay $100,

Yes I could have phrased that better, I don't think it is a good book and I wouldn't recommend anyone buy/read it. Does it have some good content? Sure but overall I don't think it is a good book to teach someone C.

I read it a while back and didn't think it was very good. I wouldn't pay $30 for it IMHO. There are better books out there.
