USB-C is awesome. It is the future and in some ways it is good Apple are being the way they are. But... I wish Apple would put USB-C in the iDevices (honestly why does the iPhone and iPad use Lightning when USB-C exists??). It is annoying t

I have used an Alienware laptop with OLED screen and it was beautiful and I am sure it would be great for coding. My main concern with an OLED is burn in. There are a lot of static elements on a computer screen and if phones are anything to

Having used one for a few days I have found that while disk I/O is an impressive gain on the already amazing speeds in the previous model the CPU gains are minimal and disappointing. And the GPU is already dated. It has a lovely screen

BTW it is not actually free . It will cost $1.99/month for the ad-free version but it is ad-free until the end of the year.

Are you in any way associated with Dropbox? If not your site feels a little too familiar.

So I am guessing they will also be banning all the porn on TV, in magazines, books and such as well? I mean 50 Shades of Gray is pure filth and only a depraved mind would choose to read something so disgusting and degrading to women. And

I know it sucks but sometimes you need to write code that isn't quite as elegant as it could be. I will take the OP on his word that he is a great coder, but if he writes code his team can't work with then it will be a problem. Wr

I have quit FB a few times but the reality is that FB Messenger is the main IM platform for many because it works so well going from mobile and computer. I don't use or care for any other features of Facebook. I also don't bother

Indeed. Plus I really like that I can install just the C++ tools and not all the .NET languages as well as I don't need or want those! The overall IDE speed is greatly improved as well. Looks like a good update so I am looking forwar

Indeed. Even the full JetBrains package is good value even for a hobbyist programmer. People spend thousands on fishing rods and golf clubs for their hobbies yet when it comes to software they scoff at anything over £30. Having said that I

Just so others know you will need to install the Windows help system to open .hlp on Windows 10 (and maybe 8?) as they are deprecated. If you want to build single exe for Windows XP you need to install the specific C++ tools for XP option i

Petzold's book that dom0 mentioned is/was the definitive Win32 reference albeit very dated now. It obviously will not cover anything in Windows 2000 and later(!). MSDN is still the go to place for all Win32 documentation although

In my experience if you are a real Excel wizard you are close to irreplaceable and yes you can demand a very good salary. A lot of the business world runs on spreadsheets and being able to do some magic will make you a very popular person w

Interesting. I knew it would be good enough to do SNES games but I am quite surprised it is actually more powerful than the 3DS and Wii. Then again the Wii is 10 years old so yeah it makes sense. Wow that 10 years went fast.
