It actually does work for me, the audible ticking and vocal time status updates keep me aware of the time and constantly brings my attention back to what I'm supposed to be doing. Of course it's only supplemental and not a silver

There's no nuclear option yet but I could see it being added down the road if there's enough interest. It's possible in Electron to prevent the user from closing or minimizing an app. Preventing the user from uninstalling it

Hey HN, I built Cringe Clock, a Pomodoro timer app for us—procrastinators, and the chronically distracted. You know, the ones who find themselves an hour deep into a YouTube rabbit hole when there's work to be done. Cringe Clock is lik

This is super interesting. Looks like it's not just an emergency fallback, but could be part of our daily lives. I doubt it'll fully replace the internet, but it could be a game-changer for rural or disaster-hit areas. The off-gri

What are institutions doing to fix this? How can they encourage diversity of thought and opinion, even controversial opinions?

Absolutely true. Whoever is downvoting leave a comment to explain. Are we okay with banks discriminating against free speech but not against porn?

Remember, the tech workers coding the algorithms that enable these censorship biases are reading HN and I don't think they like reading comments that counter their ideology. Hence downvotes with no comments or justification.

The New York Times is likely already working on a new article with the title: "Rehabilitating Satan, an Angel with a Bad Rap"

Thanks for the laugh - The fact that we look to greedy corporations for politics and ideology is absolutely ridiculous

Not so sure about the Yoga (easily subbed with cardio) but I can see breathing exercises helping. That said, I would like to see these kids just having less screen time and more outdoor activity and compare the results to this study.

Wow, thanks for reminding me about those. I didn't think anything of them when they added them to my account. Looks like I got 1400 lumens from the drop.

Developer quality of life. Lucee and CFWheels gives you the best of both worlds. Also, I hate Ruby syntax. I’d sooner use Golang.

Lucee.io all the way. It was featured here on hn awhile back. Basically dynamic ecmascript on the JVM. Great for quickly prototyping apps with. I’ve also built many highly scalable enterprise applications with it.

100% Lucee is amazing! However I prefer Wheels framework for more of a Ruby on Rails feel.

This. We pray and give thanks as a family multiple times per day. Not in an empty monotonous prayer but we all chime in things and people that we're thankful for. Simple and genuine.
