Dagny is the first "Anti-Mary Sue" I can remember in literature. She's ostensibly the protagonist, but is literally worse at everything than her male couterparts.

The "vibe" of Atlas Shrugged (other than "fucking boring") is pretty much "Insecure guy who wears a suit to high-school and is on the debate team" or I guess more simply "Ben Shapiro". So yeah, I gues

Paul would much rather make a punching bag out of straw than actually grapple with the massive inequality that he has personally helped cause. Just remember guys, the real problem our society faces is that someone was once mean to paulg on

It's a weird feeling to live in a world where even extremely detailed, documented, and cited facts have near zero impact on popular opinion. Belief has always been a mix of feeling and fact, but I don't remember the balance being

The phenomenon you're observing is broken-down drones who are bitter that other workers are refusing to tolerate the abuse that they accepted.

1. It's Fannie and Freddie, nobody uses the acronyms, but if you must it's FNMA and FHLMC. 2. The mortgage meltdown started with subprime loans, which were not guaranteed by Fannie and Freddie. It was private lenders selling loans

Also, OUR idea of ownership, at least legally, is based on the idea of usage and access. You may own a piece of land, but not the mineral rights. You can't prevent an aircraft from flying over your property etc. Ownership is a bundle o

Nvidia probably could sell cards directly now, given the strength of their reputation (and the reality backing it up) for graphics, crypto, and AI. However, they grew up as a company that sold through manufacturing and channel partners and

There is a backlash against COVID actions that is happening now, is because people are terrible at math and worse at assessing risk. The idea that COVID was not a valid emergency is pure historical revisionism with no base in fact or data.

Nice nostalgia piece overall, but I especially enjoyed this line: "The distinction between noise and signal becomes decreasingly apparent the further one gets from their source." Very succinct and insightful. I will use that in th

They do sell some PCs, but their market share is very low, and I can't imagine it's a significant part of their revenue. They definitely wouldn't bother slowing down Windows 11 adoption to sell a few more Surface Books.

If you're going to run Windows 11 anyway, why would Microsoft care if you do it on a new or older PC?

I don't see how you're going to catch people like this without doxxing them. They rely on opsec and misdirection to avoid getting caught. Do you have examples where the information was gratuitous?

Actually, parent is wrong. You're not supposed to do that shit on Windows either. That's what AppData is for. Writing configuration files and folders to "Documents" or the user's home folder is sloppy shit.
