Is there a way to use this in the excellent Git Bash for Windows? Because Git Bash is amazing and I don't see myself going back to cygwin anytime soon. I understand how they could be very incompatible because of the way Git Bash is b

I think you've hit upon a good measure of function quality. If you find you have to jump around a lot when reading, that would be a sign that it's poorly organized and needs to be refactored. On the other hand, if you find you d

I think that I understand. Programming is a trap because it is easy to be satisfied with writing code. It is fun and rewarding. But it may not be the most valuable thing you could be doing for your organization or for your career.

Survey is down, so I'll just post. I use curl primarily for testing web service apis. It's also pretty awesome that chrome and other devtools can 'copy request as curl'.

It wasn't that we weren't validating, but instead there was always something that prevented us from getting to 100% that we were unable to fix. That is what I mean by 'probably will not validate anyway'.

That closing slash was never really required. Sure your xhtml won't validate, but it probably wasn't going to anyway. xhtml was recommended in my formative years and I never really broke that habit. I still think input, img, br

How do you measure speed though? Speed to hit the done button or speed to get to production bug-free? You aren't really measuring speed accurately until you account for all the downstream time, and even include time for problems foun

Are we already at the bottom? I just read an article about Baltimore on CNN, and at the bottom the related articles included "TV's hottest news anchors".

These sound like great techniques, but I am not convinced that they can overcome the start-of-interview confirmation bias. I use the same questions for every candidate, yet I often find myself rooting for some of them more than others. Th

This is really cool! But for price-conscious consumers like me (I'm cheap) it may not be an option. I'm sure this is going to cost more than if I just buy whatever is on sale at the grocery store. However, if this becomes ubiqu

I don't think that is true. We had security and privacy problems before we had extra features. These problems will always exist, whether we innovate on other stuff or not.

I feel the same way about the news, but I suspect we are both wrong to have this exact reaction. While the bullet points are correct, not wanting to know the news comes from a place of self-centeredness. This is betrayed in the statement

I had only one thing to do this entire week, and I didn't even get it done. So from where I sit one thing a day is pretty optimistic. Granted I did a lot of useful things for people, I just didn't get my own priority completed.
