I think the thing that applies here is the story about the potters making one perfect pot vs. 1000 imperfect ones. In the end the ones who were going for volume were the ones who were making the more beautiful ones too. The best way to lear

And whatever users are willing to pay for not seeing ads someone is willing to pay more for users to see ads. Of course the best would be to let users pay for not seeing ads and then shove them in their face anyway for maximum profit.

I applaud the effort but seriously though I just wonder... For reference, Chromimum (and therefore Chrome) is a monster of a project and has at this point probably over 10 million lines of code and has taken +20 years to develop with thousa

You made a great example here and I absolutely agree with you. In fact I find this type of accidental / unneeded coupling is the number one cause of problems, bugs and limitations of re-use and thus development velocity in any software

What terrible advice. Your public variables are so much easier to refactor if/when your data changes when you have simple accessors methods around them. Having accessors for data have saved my ass multiple times when I've had to d

Make sure that: - your framebuffer is hardware accelerated - your systemd doesn't have any timeouts or service hangups - run a lightweight environment such as fluxbox And you should really be fine still.

Based on my 25 yoe in the industry the article is extremely cynical but unfortunately very much spot on. Today in the corporate world the MBAs are running the show and they need continuous, growth and engagement. All needs of the developer

We lost the plot when the MBA ass clowns took over and started adding "engagement" and other features that only serve the interest of the developer not the user . The typical corporate software is now primarily serving the need

This is absolutely fine. But people who post on Reddit or gamedev.net or any other forum ultimately are also looking for external validation. If they weren't they would not be posting. But hey let's be honest, who wouldn't wa

I think the biggest threat for future NVIDIa right now is their own current success. Their software platforms and CUDA are a very strong moat against everyone else. I don't see any beating them on that front right now. The problem is t
