I agree completely - I tried a couple on subjects I didn't know much about and found them slow. But I think this is perhaps a more complex problem - even advanced lectures at university sometimes seemed so slow as to be boring, even when I

Umm... just downvoting today? Is there something specifically that you disagree with? Do you feel the need to downvote when you disagree with something? - All fats are more than twice the calorific density of carbs/proteins. Disagree? - Goo

I don't think it is "common knowledge" - in fact, I think it's almost entirely untrue. Fats in general are calorifically dense, and you will "get fat" by eating a lot of them regardless of if they are "good" or "bad". Good fats may be bette

Whilst I haven't done the research to back up such a strong statement, I feel that this form of childhood conditioning is strong & damaging enough to qualify as abusive parenting (semi-forced feeding + impact in later life). Doubling up

Complex autocomplete logic doesn't have to make it any less simple in it's interface. I had a greasemonkey prototype that autocompleted on friends, followers, googled usernames etc and sorted on relevance given current timeline/replies. And

I seriously don't mean this in an insulting/trollish way but I think you are either lacking imagination or underestimating how quickly you can adapt to a richer lifestyle. Given you are even here and thinking about entrepreneurial rewards I

Good answer. Arguably, in a simplistic sense more liquidity is always better for the functioning of the market. But if we have a lot of "false" liquidity that perhaps encourages people to make optimistic assumptions, and that liquidity can

The iPhone is pretty much marketed and sold as a multi-purpose computing device. There is a huge market for installing software on it, there is a development environment etc. People know this when they buy it. It is very obviously a compute

Why is it that I always feel that location awareness is used vastly more against my interests than for it? With the exception of Google Maps, I can't think of a single instance where it's helped me. You can't watch this, because you aren't

Is there a contact link? This is neat but some obvious non-US improvements: Colour-coding the prices would make it a lot more intuitive to read/scan for deals. Detects me as being in New York (I'm in Switzerland) if I go to the base URL. On

In my entirely non-medical opinion, it sounds like psychological effects could be responsible for a large part of why you are in such a bad way. Even if they are not the root cause, they could be severely clouding your judgement of things b

I don't know how strongly I can express my agreement with this. I am not an all-out "doctors are kooks" type, but the ease with which kook-types can become doctors seems too high. I have had several bad experiences with doctors being fundam

Exactly. The real problem here is underhanded practice within the industry, and they could just as easily be targeted like this without being included in Metacritic. In fact, since Metacritic do actually have a policy for the kind of review

I think this is a bit off-the-mark. The point is not really a moral one from the point of view of the person getting the worse deal. Sounds illogical, but it's not: as an earlier poster said, the limit went in at 26.40, it doesn't matter to

Unfortunately most conventional stores don't stock any sizes large enough. The three sizes on the rack is what you get, and if you move to a country with an average size smaller than you (or like something in a shop that treats male fashion

It's not just overweight that's the problem. I'm normally a bit overweight. This is offset by being somewhat stronger than average in build - a t-shirt that fits snuggle around my chest but falls quite wide around the waist will hide a lot

Having followed the link without reading the comments, I was pleased to come back here to find that everyone else was just as unimpressed as I am. The whole thing seems to amount to playing games with words, and disliking Dawkins. Facile.
