Let's say you live in front of the Splunk office, and you see tens of people in suits, a limo with a CISCO sticker, as well as a lot of commotion on the office in front of you. You strongly suspect something is happening, you buy $22k

Well, english is not my first language. What I meant probably got lost in translation :)

My comment is not about changing the language but about the fact that whenever we rewrite it, we improve the quality because of the lessons learned during past iterations.

Simply rewriting it in any language would improve reliability

One could argue that the mere presence of settlements is evidence of political organisation.

We have some people of the road in Geneva. I'm not sure if they're Yenish or not but the usually arrive at the beginning of Spring and leave at the end of the Summer.

Freeciv[1] also has a named port (5556) that once caused me a lot of headache because our server was binding to 5556 and nmap reported it as freeciv, which I had no idea about. [1] https://wiki.wireshark.org/Freeciv.md

I keep seeing claims that modern C++ is functional but that is simply untrue. Most so called functional methods in the standard library require mutating the target (ie std::sort, std::transform, etc.) They are not ergonomic because we have

It reminds me of these movies when the AI starts becoming crazy over time and initially goes into a senseless monologue obsessing about some random subject.

Sure but is it impossible that something would leak when injecting massive amounts of energy in a gigantic tunnel?

Yes I think it's great, but still it would be good to have research to understand the effect on local population. It is intellectually dishonest to just say it is not possible for anything to leak and have adverse effects on people wit
