Could be used for a lot of cool things, like a mirror, a magnifying glass, keeping a part of the page in view even if it is outside of the screen (for editing purposes for instance), I'm sure I'm missing many other use cases. None

I agree to an extent, but you have to at least be aware of the complexity of your algorithms (time and space) and understand the trade offs. If the trade offs change depending on compiler optimisations, then you'll have some difficult

You typically wouldn't want an OpenCL or CUDA implementation because developers expect their code to be running on a single core. If random functions started using multiple cores or running or the GPU, it would become very difficult to

A touch screen with driver buttons and voice command would be ideal. The passenger should still be able to man the touch screen and the driver should be able to control the interface without having to look at it.

Sure, the overall shape doesn't give a lot of leeway for design. But other details like the home button (early iPhones), absence of jack sockets, disappearance of navigation buttons (like early Samsung Galaxys), etc. follow the same tr

One example that is missing but would actually have been more obvious is the smartphone. They basically all look the same. It seems to me that some winners emerge, which makes other competitors want to replicate the winner's formula. O

What kind of maths is required? I am not a practitioner but I try to stay up to date. I read ML papers, and it seems like they only require pretty basic maths (as in High School level.) Linear algebra, calculus, and stochastic calculus. It

It feels like it is one of the reasons experienced devs are ditching Python for production systems. Besides horrendous performance and lousy semantics. The cost of setting up, maintaining the environment and onboarding people is just not wo

`&T` does not mean it's immutable. It means it's borrowed. `&mut T` means it's borrowed mutably `T` and `mut T` have the same logic but for owned variables. I don't get the issue there.

I don't re-read the whole sentence before every word I type, contrary to transformers. Also, I can go back and correct my mistakes.

GPT and Bard only predict the next word in a sentence. If you give the full conversation as input and add the latest prompt, the transformer will be able to use that as extra context and predict the next words.

I assume you must be pretty low to be able to ping a 4g tower. Is it impossible that the guy would have jumped from the plane with a parachute? Then he would have run with the insurance money.

Talk is cheap, show me the code. There are exactly 0 snippets in this article, despite making subjective claims about the language being easier and more intuitive than C/C++ for HPC.
