Because you didn't order the illegal Acacia? It's not like elephant ivory - the wood can come from a number of places and look about the same. As an end user you asked for "wood floors" and you got wood floors, and it wa

Agreed - moderation at scale is a tough and expensive problem to get right. That said, I wonder how much these days it would take to get it working well enough using existing LLMs. I'm not sure how much you would need to do that wasn&#

They had a baby. It’s a boy! That said - perhaps harder to change the name that shows up as quickly as you could leave a recorded name? :) Still one of the best ads ever made.

Can you imagine if the proponents of the Clipper Chip had actually won the argument? Yeesh. This is inexcusable.

When this happens don’t you typically also see the track registered at the bottom? ContentID took them a long time to develop if I’m remembering right.

It's probably best not to trust _any_ podcast until you do a bit of investigation. That way you won't run into the "learning not to trust" problem and you can write a "why I trust the X podcast" article. That s

The notion that a president can do this unilaterally without Congress is very strange. While I understand the laws and norms around executive authority are often pushed against, you cannot legally defund an entire agency by executive order.

I don't recall laughing out loud reading Siddhartha, but man I laugh my ass off every time I read Cryptonomicon, as well as a lot of his other books. They're often over-the-top wink-wink caricatures and often full of humor and cle

You're really missing out. Hiro Protagonist is a great character, and the idea of modern capitalism (Pizza delivery chains) combined with the yakuza underworld makes for some excellent cyberpunk imaginings.
