The BLS does have regional CPI numbers. Here's their page for SF: https://www.bls.gov/regions/west/news-release/consumerpricei... Note that the CPI in the SF bay area has been >2% for over a decade an

If your core use case is collaboration, GSuite is the best option IMO. If you have more of a desktop publishing mindset, the Microsoft suite has way more options. Personally I have zero need for WordArt or custom page sizes, but rely on the

I'm using a 10 year old Brother with the starter toner. Still going strong, but I haven't given Brother a cent since I bought it for $100. Can they survive off that? Hopefully.

I was interested in reading more about this, but the articles I found on the topic suggested the minimum wage in Germany was only instituted in 2015. Is this the natural experiment you're talking about? https://socialeurope.

This comment made me laugh out loud. There's no way I'd prefer Windows + WSL to a proper Linux install. I can't stand my OS trying to advertise to me, Windows is a PITA to install/maintain, and I strongly prefer the Gnom

The article is talking about direct source dependencies, not service dependencies. Services have to be backwards compatible or provide a migration period (of course, there's no real alternative). Sort of similar to your /v2/.

A discrete GPU comes with thermal and power requirements that change the form factor for the entire laptop. It doesn't make sense to have the same chassis for the with and without GPU use cases.

I'm very confused: if you want to have more residents in your city with a fixed amount of land, then you need multifamily housing. Walkability is also associated with density and benefits from multi-family and mixed use zoning.

I like this design! Asking the database to tell you the schema of your result does seem like the simplest, most reliable option. However it does require you to have a running database as part of your build process; normally you'd only

Yeah, :make gives you that, as do various LSP integration plugins. The main downside of :make is that it's synchronous, which is why I sometimes build in a separate tmux pane.

I don't always use :make. Navigating manually is fast: Specific lines is just :NN, jumping to an open buffer is just :b substr<tab><enter>. Or, :tag FunctionName (which has completion) to jump to a symbol. Or, forward incre

The "farebox recovery ratio" for cars is also low: taxes and user fees only pay for only ~50% of the cost of roads, at most. The rest comes out the general fund.
