Colleges breaks down when trying to turn qualitative experiences into quantitative data, I don't like how the models come out. (Doesn't mean they don't end up successful, obviously.) My fave approach in the space recently has been Unigo.com

Cute - submitted something. My annoyance is how many things are owned by squatters. Domain tasting / kiting really caused so much collateral damage :(

The iPhone component - or "Verizon Wireless Blackberry", whatever it is - infuriates me. I changed my mobile signature on my Incredible to say "Sent from mobile." That way, people know why the spelling might be bad, but I don't feel like I'

That's very illuminating. I have some ideas for displaying / managing flight and travel information that I would really love to implement, but the "Data Problem" has loomed large for experimentation. I didn't in fact realize that it was eve

Not speaking here as a legal expert or anything of that nature, but I can't think of a reason why you would make a different company for each app; there would be no need. Disadvantages there include lots of fees, paperwork, and headache.

Wow! That sounds crazy indeed. My feeling is that if you are reasonably smart, there is nothing to stop you from learning those kinds of skills. Plus, in that kind of situation, it's very important to make sure that you don't get ripped off

I think I am good at all of these things! (And, beyond just 'thinking' them, have had the opportunity to prove myself before). While I know a lot of flaky aspiring business-types, I still get bummed when I see articles written like those th

I think that exposure to new cultures and places can be stimulating and lead to creative new ideas and strategies. Perhaps less so if the company in question is just laser-focused on a consumer web product for the USA, but, in general...

It would seem like the big perk here would be the 40k. I really like the idea of going to Chile to get that support to build a prototype etc, and if I had some friends who were similarly motivated I would definitely consider applying. I wo

Sounds like fun! A little out of the way for that early on a Sunday for me (with MUNI and my bike my only means of transport). I've set an alarm, we'll see if I make it there to spectate ;)

How much did the flip flops cost each? Is it $10,000 worth of 10,000 flip flops, or 10,000 flip flops at X cost? Maybe people could help to sell them like a pledge drive - people could sign up to sell them girl-scout cookie style, fundraisi
