Every time I see these things, they look cool as hell, I get excited, then I try to get them working on my gaming PC (that has the GPU), I spend 1-2h fighting with python and give up. Today's issue is that my python version is 3.12 ins

Assuming you're not being disingenuous, and that's a big if given your word choice ("a certain code of Ethics") and ellipsis, why do you think people were up in arms? What do you think is the core difference between Barl

"Show signs of rent seeking behaviour" seems like an extremely generous position. Forbidding your customers from even mentioning The Outside is full-on rent seeking behaviour, since its inception.

I agree with this sentiment. The one thing I liked about Clojure was the simplicity of the syntax, as long as you kept away from writing macros. In general, after so many decades programming, I've come to dislike languages with optiona

Indeed when opening it in a fresh ff profile it loaded just fine. To redeem myself a bit, spent the last 20 min disabling extensions to find out the culprit, but even with all of them disabled it's still unusable on my default profile.

This is grossly incorrect. It's just baby/funny talk for "friend", like typing "smol" instead of "small".

Insane that they allow that. Maybe it's an option the host can set on the listing? Booking, as far as I know, straight up doesn't allow hosts to cancel. Recently, a host sent me a message begging me to cancel my booking because th

I have done dozens of reservations and never heard of anything like that. Maybe don't book places with fewer than 5 reviews? Same goes to airbnb or any platform that allows for anyone to publish a listing. On the other hand had one sev

My goodness the container UX is tragic. I thought it was just an initial release, they would make it better It's been more than year. I can't even recommend it to non-tech friends because I have trouble using it myself.

Some 6 years ago I bought new bluetooth headphones. Every time I'd put them on, my macbook would open apple music (I didn't even know it was installed). Every time. No way to disable it, I really tried. Stopped shy of doing some k

Hope someone from cloudflare chimes in. If even part of this is true I'll make sure to never do business with cloudflare, they sound like a massive liability.

That's very impressive, super slick. The subpage preview on the parent page works so well I went digging into the source code.

I've worked in companies with similar frameworks both as a dev and as manager, and it was great. Everything has issues, but the framework gave useful guidance. Sorry you've worked for such terrible companies.

Sure, but I'm commenting on the fact that gp believes that having panic attacks in social interactions is just an introvert trait. Parent comment and I are arguing that it's not.

Absolutely bizarre that you're being downvoted. Having panic attacks is not a normal reaction to any normal human situation, gp absolutely should look for medical and psychological help.

Not sure if you mean just for stock options, but more countries/regions have some form wealth tax on unrealised gains.

I do that. Duplicating the header, menu, and footer manually on every page is a pain in the ass. Not to mention the lack of minification.

How's the employer disposable? An insignificant portion of people can find a job in their field whenever they want.
