Haha, that's pretty funny: I use Windows all day, and "Dragging a window to the top of the screen maximizes it automatically" will be the absolute first thing I disable. How is that useful on 24/30" screens?

Interesting. I honestly don't really know how newspapers work, but I feel like TNYT has something that's an order of magnitude better than most papers that just republish AP crap. Maybe I'm just misled by the brand though. I'm thinking alon

Seems like something Google should actually buy for the content-making-people. Maybe there's just too much debt though, and they can just hire the people directly.

I just grabbed it and played around. I don't really know Smalltalk very well, but it's kind of neat, I guess. If it wasn't running in vmware I couldn't actually use it a real computer for how much you give up. Maybe as a deployment method a

Like the title Georgia, but I'd go farther and change Verdana on the discussion to serif'd (I know, crazy!). Also, the guidelines/faq/contact links don't work.

Sadly, not enough research has been done: "A broad, comprehensive survey of many different species is needed before the evolution of vomiting is fully understood." _Needed_. (Interesting read though)

Nice start. It looks like a mobile phone interface to me, blown up to desktop size. Maybe a phone-centric focus would be a useful direction?

Basic functionality works really well. I find it a bit unsatisfying that when I search for an artist, that's not what I hear because the station's likely moved to the next thing. I understand what's happening, but I don't get what I want. D

I remember hating that Netscape banner at the top of their page because it took so damn long to load over a 28.8 (my rural phone lines only got to 31.2 on a "good day" once I got a 56k).

I've heard this repeated a lot, but honestly I found the story trite, and the combat pretty generic after a few levels. Maybe I was hoping for too much though. YMMV, of course.

It depends a lot on your project. For large C++ projects, I've found scons and boost jam painfully slow for iterative builds. For smaller things they're possibly nice because they're expressive and pretty simple. AFAIK, either make or vanil

Nope, not yet at least. I don't honestly find FF "fat" and requiring slimming/speeding up. Of course, faster JS is a good thing, maybe I'll switch when some app more or less needs the performance to be usable. It's also too obsessed with ta

While I can appreciate the hack-ness of this, what's the benefit? It says those electrodes are 4 micrometers wide == 4000nm. Intel's doing, what 45nm now? Is it the materials that are used that make this interesting? Or just the promise of
