Because business took over, and when that happens people are more focused on looking good than being good. There's also an influx of non-tech people flooding the tech world because they want to do business, which diminishes the quality

Probably not necessarily on topic - but I really want to say that this guy has been the #1 source of pain in my developer career so far. There've been so many projects where I had to implement some solution some way because the "a

I’m currently in the same spot, 2 very experienced guys looking to start our own thing without networking. I tried ads on every platform, got no returns. Seems like working in our own network is the only way to go.

I advise you to go back and read the law again. What you describe doesn’t happen and it’s not even enforced by it.

How big of a company is it? If it's just you and your friend / brother / partner, try to use the network you already have: family, friends, colleagues and so on. This isn't a joke, every time I go back to my hometown, so

Good for them, I wish EU did it too. GDPR is such a failure. Edit: Why is this downvoted? What exactly did GDPR accomplish except for making our web experience a mess, both for businesses and users.

Yeah I agree, what they did with Swift / the iOS library is an absolute masterpiece, but I feel like conceptually they're very much the same and once you've got the hangs of one, you'd easily switch to another, at least

After you get past the initial pain, it's native Java & Swift. Implementing something twice seems like a bad idea, but after fiddling with "cross-platform wannabe" solutions I can safely say that native is the way to go.

Love the Musk army in this thread, eager to destroy any sort of competitor this brand has. You know you guys are the ones that benefit from this kind of market competition, right?

Love how the same community that trashes Google for killing their products is also trashing them on every single attempt at building one. It doesn't work in my country which means it sucks. It doesn't have whatever game I want whi

There's a balance to it, and finding that is what (I think) you should strive for in software development.

If you record your screen for 10 minutes while doing common stuff like mail, web browsing etc, you've already beaten 99% of the tech review YT channels out there in terms of competence on reviewing something.

I've enjoyed high level programming so far (think Java, Swift). But for the sake of argument, I'm gonna say this: high level languages (& their runtime environments) take control over the code that the programmer writes. Speak

Oh, I'm not blaming Apple for anything here. I actually love my Mac Air, for the things its really good at. I'm blaming the so-called YT influencers/content creators that lie to their audience.

Nothing struggles. But the Intel 2020 Air is noticeably slower than the refurbished 2012 Linux Mint (and 2015 Windows) that I own. Disclaimer: I bought the Mac for building apps only.

Same. The whole "Google will pay me as long as I do what they say" has nothing to do with equality, it's how things work. Pushing this so hard in the media screams "I want attention and favouritism" for my activism.
